Milliken Park Play Area — Attraction in Toronto

My kids have been to the old and updated version of this playground. Sadly, the old one was much better. There are less climbing structures, no more sliding poles, less slides and the play structure is significantly smaller. And there are two swings which are currently missing (refer to picture). I am a little disappointed with what they have done with the space, especially knowing what was there beforehand. The splash pad that was there before has remained intact.

The one impovement of this playground is the addition of the toddler area that the older playground did not have. It is pretty small but it gives the smaller kids a place to play.

This playground gets very busy on nice days. Nearby, there is a nice pond and kids can see swans, geese, ducks, fish, turtles and more. There is also a big hill next to the playground that kids can use for sledding in the winter.

Overall, it's a decent park but the kids and I gave it 2 stars because of our past experience before...

In the summer, barbecue and other recreational activities in Milliken Park are especially popular among people of all ethnic groups. In order to let visitors better enjoy the good summer time, the staff in the park maintains it very well. Unfortunately, the faucet in the No. 2 barbecue area is like a decoration and does not play its due function. There is no water to wash hands. We immediately reported this problem to the diligent staff, but the staff only told us that the faucet was broken and did not say when it would be repaired. It was helpless. We came here happily but left...

It's always crowded, no matter day or time, so it tough finding a single picnic table. Also, the playground ends up being so packed with kids that they're standing around waiting for the swings most...
