My group of 13 dined at Annalakshmi Scarborough, and the experience was deeply disappointing due to multiple service, hygiene, and operational issues. As someone with experience in both the restaurant and technology industries, I was particularly shocked by the lack of professionalism, poor organization, and a flawed ordering system. 1 Order Mix-Up and Insulting Service: We ordered several items, but the kitchen sent the wrong dishes. Mistakes happen, and the server initially acknowledged the error, asking us to keep the incorrect order while promising to replace it. However, just minutes later, another server abruptly took the plate away—while we were eating! This felt like a complete disregard for our dignity and experience. We’re here for quality service, not freebies, and this incident was utterly unacceptable. 2 Hygiene Concern: Shortly after, we received another dish, only to find a hair in it. This raised serious concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene standards. I won’t share photos here, but I sincerely hope the management addresses this issue. While they might claim the hair came from a guest, this doesn’t excuse the overall disorganization we witnessed. 3 Lack of Professionalism: The staff’s handling of these issues points to a clear need for professional customer service training. From the chaotic order mishandling to the lack of accountability, the team seemed unprepared to deliver a positive dining experience. 4 Unplanned and Inconvenient Ordering System: The restaurant uses a tech-based ordering system where customers scan a barcode on the table, access a website, add items to a cart, and send the order to the kitchen. While technology can enhance efficiency, this system feels poorly tested and disrupts the dining experience. To order additional items, you must repeatedly pull out your phone, navigate the website, and add more items—even while still eating. This constant need to use devices mid-meal is frustrating and impractical. A well-designed system should streamline the process, not burden customers with repetitive tasks. Significant improvements are needed to make this system user-friendly and conducive to a pleasant dining experience. Overall, Annalaxmi Scarborough needs substantial improvements in service, hygiene, staff training, and their ordering technology. I hope they take this feedback seriously to avoid disappointing other customers. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend...
Read morePlease stay away from this restaurant.... I don't even want to give it a 1-*, but I have to give it here first. We made reservations with our friends for our 40th anniversary celebration at this Scarborough location. I had been dreaming of going here for days because of the ads and star 4.7. But everything was so fake. I was very disappointed and sad. I am very surprised how they can deceive people with such courage and trust. We went for lunch. There was already a group of peoples there to celebrate a birthday party. Apart from that, a few others had also come for a private meal. There was only one waiter working. sorry for him. After we waited for 15 minutes, he appeared. He looked at us and said to sit somewhere. After that, we waited for 10 minutes and then we got the menu card ourselves. We ordered the food through the app. It came quickly. But all together, the appetizers, the main menu, the drinks. The people who had come for the birthday party were also left unattended like orphans. we are too. *There are 1 or 2 things you might not like about any restaurant. But nothing is right here. 1) No one is welcoming. 2) Reservations are not helpful. They close the resturant @3to@5. but once we reserved they didn't mention. our celibarate mood gone. 3) The loungers are too close together. Airplane seats are betterthan this space. Please don't bring any grandparants here. they cant sit. 4) No service 5) can't talk about the food quality & taste. It is a horrible. They sent very old food heated up. Without any taste. Did they give you vada curry? - It's a mixture of lentils. Biriyani, veg mix are all the same rice. After eating, it easily comes out of your mouth or stomach. **We go to such places to celebrate our happy moments. But we give money and lose our happiness. Think about it. How do they conduct this in many places? scammers. please...
Read moreWe went to Annalakshmi to celebrate a birthday. The food was good but there were several issue through outthat the management needs to take into account. The restaurant doesn't have proper setup for bigger groups. We were a group of 8 people and sat in tables put together in an awkward manner. We couldnt get out of the tables because of this setup.Ordering the food was such a hassle since we had to enter through the scanning app part. We were only notified about this after a long wait. Because of this difficult ordering procedure we didn't bothering ordering anything afterwards like tea or coffee. And TBH this method of ordering robs you of the human interaction we prefer to have at a restaurant. We couldnt ask for recommendations to the waiter. It was just like ordering takeout from home. Very annoying. The service is bad because the restaurant is terribly under staffed. At one point our waiter was at every table. The food is good but I don't see the reason to pay around 25-30% more than other similar restaurants for terribly wait and service. Staff training is crucial to ensure customers enjoy the whole dining experience. The waiters were super friendly and kind but the training is definitely missing in their functioning. People are sitting at their tables for a long time to place orders and pay their bills. Lots of confusion. Please work on these things to improve your restaurant to ensure people return back. And please, tell the waiters to bring everyone's food at the same time. We had 2 exact similar orders. One can early, the other came last. In between that other tables were being served. It's really confusing to understand how the kitchen works. Please sit for a day at a good restaurant like Kelseys or any white restaurant to see how food should be served, how waiters pay attention to customers to ensure the restaurant really...
