It is a very good park for all ages. In the morning, many seniors come to enjoy the morning sun and fresh air, walk, dance, etc. The landscape is beautiful. My salute to every Park and Recreation Department staff maintaining the park.
May the visitors appreciate the park and make an effort to put their garbage to garbage bins which are placed throughout the park.
OBSERVATION AND SUGGESTION TO TORONTO PARK AND RECREATION DEPT.
The washrooms are stinky, and there may be a safety issue due to the sticky cubicle door latches in the public washrooms.
If the flushing controls more ergonomically placed, washrooms may not be so stinky.
The cubicle door latches therein are sticky. If not replaced with the safer ones, they need lubricant urgently to avoid users being locked in. It is particularly the case for seniors going there alone because they may not have the finger strength to open the stuck door latch. I personally have had such a scary experience this morning.
Last, the street name on the sign of the park on Steeles Ave. East is "Steeles Avenue West"...
Read moreMillikin District Park is a gem, perfect for families and anyone who loves a bit of green space. It's got everything: lush lawns, fun playgrounds, and trails that are just begging for a lazy stroll. It's the kind of place where you can relax and forget about the world for a while.
Now, if you happen to visit on Canada Day, buckle up because things get spectacular! The park turns into party central with a fantastic fireworks display that lights up the sky like it's had one too many energy drinks. The bursts of color and the "oohs" and "aahs" from the crowd create a vibe that's simply electric. It's like the grand finale of a blockbuster movie, but better, because you’re there in person, surrounded by a community that's as friendly as a Labrador retriever at a barbecue.
So, pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and get ready to enjoy a day (and night) filled with fun and fireworks at Millikin District Park. Trust me,...
Read moreApril 2022 4★ A large area park that is located at the major intersection of McCowan and Steeles. This park takes up several blocks. Its nice wooded area provides great shade during hot sunny days, while it's open fields are great for running, soccer and kite flying. A nice sand pit playground (though older) and a splash pad complements the park. This park is just perfect for picnics as they have multiple gazebos. There are two separate playground structures/areas. Currently, in the pond there's lots of gold fishes and ducks.
Public rest rooms are available. Plenty of parking.
