Finally made a return visit since Pre-pandemic!!

Sadly, things have gone down hill on service IMO. It appears that call in take out orders have priority. Customers who are dining in are 2nd priority. It took almost 50 minutes for our dishes to arrive. We ordered : Shrimp soy milk rice rolls, Diced Chicken & Cream Corn with rice & Shrimp & Egg sauce rice noodles (ho fun). My wife was almost ready to leave at the 1/2 hour point. We also noticed customers who ordered for take away in person, wait over 20 minutes to get their order.

Also if you dine in with family or more than 1 person and are used to sharing dishes, that's a challenge here now, since the dishes are not intended for sharing now. Dishes now seem to be aimed at per person a-la-carte orders. There are no visible additional dishes or utensils for those dining that wish to share in a small group.

If you intend to order from here, I would strongly recommend, calling in your order and picking it up instead of dining in.

This resto is STILL CASH ONLY!! Which I still find to be a strong inconvenience. Wifey & I don't usually carry cash.

I'm surprised this resto didn't get any warnings or fines or complaints against them during the lockdown in 2020/2021..since they did not have contact-less option for payments. They still don't have contact-less options to pay!! ...

This place used to be my favorite congee place to go to until today when I found a shiny piece of metal in my congee.

At first I thought it was a piece of fish skin because of how shiny it was until I inspected more closely and it turned out to be a piece of metal. Most likely flaked off of the piping in the ceiling or off of the pot they cook the congee in.

Regardless, I had to throw the entire take out away because of this finding and I would warn people to stay away after this experience.

This is unacceptable practice, imagine if you had eaten there consistently and only now you have discovered that there may have been metal in the food you've eaten.

I will never visit here again after...

My husband has been coming here for years as they have decent food here, but I can’t say the same for hygiene. I came to pick up take out and as I walked in the cashier guy (I think he’s the owner) was blowing his nose and then without sanitizing nor washing took my money and gave me change back. The whole 15 mins while I waited for my food he was coughing left right and centre while packing all the other take outs and touching all the utensils with his bare hands. It’s pretty gross without COVID but added that we are in a pandemic it shocks me even more. Don’t think we will be coming back here ever again. *Update: now my husband is sick.. this is 4 days after he ate...
