It’s taken me a while to want to actually post this review, but I think it’s needed. The last three times I’ve made pretty large purchases at Sephora, the experience has been consistently disappointing. Whether the purchase is small or large, customer service really shouldn’t differ, but unfortunately, Sephora seems to have lost touch with this principle.
Customer service that I have received time and time again is actually disturbing. Most of their sales representatives look annoyed and have an attitude that’s not very welcoming. Despite spending over $300 in the store on each of my last three visits, I had to look around for a sales representative. Even though they were walking around, there were a few times I actually had to walk behind someone for several minutes and say "excuse me" multiple times just to get their attention. All I wanted was to pick up my online order, which should have been a simple task.
The last time I visited, the sales representative at the cash register seemed completely annoyed that she had to wait for someone to retrieve my online order. This lack of basic customer service is disheartening, especially for a store like Sephora, which holds a massive amount of products that people greatly desire.
I really like Sephora and appreciate their online platform, but I will refrain from going to the Newmarket location. I hope management reads this review and takes steps to improve the performance and attitude...
Read moreToday I made a trip to the Newmarket Sephora to purchase MAC lip liners, specifically edge to edge. I am a VIB Rouge member and I’ve always had good experiences with the staff at this location, However, this evening I had the absolute rudest experience with one of the beauty advisors, Taylor. They did not have a tester for the lip liner so I opened one up and was going to inform the staff of the missing tester. While I take full responsibility for trying a non-tester, I was abruptly scolded by your employee Taylor, who rudely told me I shouldn’t be doing that, proceeded to grab the product from me, and then questioned me if I was purchasing the product. I was so caught off guard by her approach and frustrated tone, I replied no. Before I was able to explain, she rudely cut me off and said “yea thats what I thought”.
Not once did Taylor ask me if I needed any assistance. I HAVE NEVER experienced such disrespect from an employee. Despite Taylor’s appalling unprofessionalism, I continued with my purchase of 3 other MAC products, yet did not receive a single apology.
I hope for Newmarket Sephora’s sake that Taylor is not part of the managerial team as her customer engagement was completely unprofessional and accusatory. I have no obligation to Sephora and will now be purchasing these products at the MAC...
Read moreI don't shop a sephora. I've been in the one at stc a couple times and that store is insanly confusing. all saphoras are confusing. I was told they might carry the mascara I am looking for. so I was at upper Canada mall this week and took a step inside to see what the hoopla is about this place. and... 👎🏽👎🏼👎🏾👎👎🏿. I was disgusted. the shop had loads of females in there looking around shopping. there was 1 or 2 clerks actually helping consumers. but as I reached the back of the shop there was 3 or 4 clerks standing there conversing doing NOTHING. nothing but chatting away about nothing, nothing sephora nothing with make up. it was obvious that I was looking for some form of acknowledgement. LIKE can we help you? or SOMETHING! my face was frowned and I had a look of confusion on my face. I looked lost because I was lost. but no. not one of them helped, let alone acknowledged there was anyone in the store. they just stood there talking about Netflix and Facebook, family or weekend plans. they were definitely NOT WORKING.. so that's enough for me to never ever go in there again there's no respect for consumers. consumers are invisible to these 3 or 4 store clerks at the back. sickening just so turned off. I'll go to shoppers. give my commission to their...
