The family attended Queenston Heights to celebrate a 80th Birthday of a member of the family. Since there was one vegan family member they were served on the patio and the rest of us visited the main dining room and brought our food to the patio. We found the staff to be very accommodating to our needs. Our waiter was also a vegan and was very open in his suggestions. Some members climbed the steps to the top of the Brock statue. There is a charge to do so and children are free. There is a very small gift shop at the base of the statute. The surrounding park and gardens are beautifully maintained in the Summer months with lush lawns and beautiful flower displays. There is a lovely lookout point from the top of the hill/forest area looking down towards the rivers where the Americans tried to invade the territory in the 1800's.

We had a delightful outing both educating ourselves to the history of this location and partaking of a lovely family meal on the very spacious patio which is open on 3 sides to gardens and suspended on two sides overlooking green lush forested area. Queenston Heights Park is a historic park that sits on top of the Niagara Escarpment at the south end of Niagara-On-The-Lake. This is the site of the Battle of Queenston Heights during the war of 1812. The Park is beautiful and is characterized by huge trees and large maintained grass areas. There are 2 huge picnic pavilions, tennis courts, a splash pad, an amphitheater, washrooms, a children's playground, picnic tables, a general store, and many gardens and trails both paved and natural. This park is also home to the Landscape of Nations memorial, and the Brock monument and tower. Also on site is the Queenston Heights restaurant which features fine dining. The park also contains the southern terminus of the Bruce Trail.
