I love this place and everything about it! As a conservation area within the city it is a great place to take some time to slow down. It is also managed by some amazing people and there are a couple of clubs that run nature based activities there (Friends of Laurier Woods, Nipissing Naturalist Club). The trails are maintained primarily by a club member, (Ron) and is a sanctuary for all kinds of wildlife. It is primarily a wetland with boardwalks as well as trails through forested areas, and all kinds of birds, beavers, amphibians, turtles, deer, foxes, snowshoe hares and more call this beautiful place home. There is parking off Brule street (which is off of Franklin) and foot or bike access at the end of Laurier Ave.- although some people park there too. I saw deer, foxes, countless bird species, and of course not my favorite, but also snakes coiled taking the sun. Plants also.
