The customer service in this store is terrible. My boyfriend (who goes into the store weekly to look around and purchase all of his games) bought a 1 year subscription of Play Station Plus as a gift. When handing him the receipt, the cashier ripped it right where the code was. Being the nice guy he is, he said its ok I will just tape it. Turns out, when you tape a thermal receipt all of the print disappears, so come Christmas day we could no longer read the code. He went into the store and they turned him away saying there was nothing that could be done. So, I went in because as someone who worked retail for several years that response to a loyal customer seemed like nonsense to me. This time, despite being incredibly argumentative and rude, they magically found a solution saying they could email their customer service to retrieve the code but it might may take a few days. I questioned why that option was not presented to him in the first place and why they didn't take down his information to contact him with a solution - of course they were stumped by the question. The next day we decided to call EB Games customer service to see if we could get some actual help, and sure enough the woman on the phone was able to retrieve to code for us in a matter of two minutes. He had other games on his list he was going to buy that day, but instead we picked them up at best buy and won't be going back to EB Games anytime soon. Hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, with absolutely no attempt to resolve the situation until I went in and insisted. Save your money for a business that...
Read moreFirst off I do not really play video games but have started to for personal health issues. I have been back & forth to this store 4-5 times over the past week. I returned 2-3 games with 24 hrs of purchasing them. I was there yesterday and purchased another game only to find out when I got home that it would cost more than the game did to get characters that I was told were in the game in the first place. “I am referring to Mortal Combat 1” . I then went back to the store today to return the game and not deal with this store ever again due to being misled. The gentleman at the store said sorry your stuck with the game and that’s that so I said no I am not give it to a young man for free today who may enjoy it. I took my receipt & left the game there. I am posting this review so the guy at the counter does not keep the game and in-fact give it to a young teen who would appreciate it. The reason I am implying that the worker may keep it for himself is I was told by the same guy people get the games, copy them then return them etc. and that I am pretty much renting the games for free which I found hilarious because gas, driving, wear & tear on my vehicle never mind the time & energy it takes me to go back and forth to the store. I would give a negative review of...
Read moreMy father in law went into the north bay, Ontario location today (Sunday sept 24th 2023) to buy his granddaughter (my daughter) some of the new Pokémon she’s been begging for. The worker “assumed” he was a scalper and kicked him out of the store. He said you need to pre order before you come into the store. My father in law said no my son and I go in all the time to buy Pokémon for her. (Which we were there on Friday and bought he a booster pack) then he proceeded to tell him to get the f out. I want to know the name of this employee and some consequences of these actions. This is not how a business should be ran and COMPLETELY unacceptable!!! He was just trying to get something for his granddaughter that’s 7 years old. He knows absolutely nothing about Pokémon except for the name of the ones she wanted. Also on top of it they have a 1 per person limit regardless of who he was or his intentions with them!!! Absolutely ridiculous! Something needs to be done...
