This place is a new business in the old west Edmonton laser quest location Layout: There are only two arcade games, 1 claw game, 1 Photo Booth and 3 vending machines. The games each cost a loonie (cash only) but you need a credit card for the Photo Booth. The 3 vending machines each cost $3.00 per item and consist of a machine filled with pop, one with water bottles and the last one is filled with chips, chocolate and candy. There is no water filling station or fountain on site. Party Rooms: there are 3 party rooms which are cramped at best and you order your own food to the business via skip the dishes or similar companies. The Program: We went on a Saturday and it appeared the staff had difficultly managing the amount of patrons there. To manage they created games between games causing a chain reaction of waiting longer and longer than booked for and it wasn’t very organized. What was supposed to be back to back games turned into a 15-20 minute wait between them. I wouldn’t have minded so much but there is absolutely no where to sit unless you sit on the floor. Once you do get registered (self serve) into the bank of computers you aren’t sure where your information is going as the disclaimer didn’t really go all the way down and simply asked you to type yes or no, which I’m certain is strictly for liability from what I could read. The game itself seems as normal as buying Costco laser guns and hanging out in someone’s low light basement. When I put my vest on both times they weren’t the right number which left me questioning if they cleaned equipment between uses despite each game having 46 (sweaty) players at a time in it. The staff also seemed untrained and couldn’t figure things out like the megaphone despite using it multiple games in a row. When they did use it no one could understand the rules, how to use the equipment and hopefully what to do in the event of an emergency. Overall, I didn’t feel like it was worth the money or the time to come to this for such a minimalists experience.

The game is fun, but totally unfair, they let adults and teens in the same game as 6 year olds, ruins the experience for the kids. Really could be organized better. Super expensive vending machines. You would think that’s there business not laser tag. There are 4 small party rooms. If you are booking a birthday party check to see when you get the room and for how long. There is limited seating outside the party rooms and two small washrooms, a urinal and a stall in the men’s for 100 plus people. Staff use a megaphone that no one could understand what was being said. The arcade games are not for little kids, there are very few of them too, most cost a dollar cash without a change machine in the lobby, have to stand in line at the counter. It’s really such a small space for way too many people and not set up well. Also for those in the lobby no one can see the action, no cameras in the tag area, so you truly leave your kid unsupervised, since there is no spectator involved anybody in the lobby is just standing around. I won’t go back.

It is just Laser Quest with some paint in the front of house. The packs are smaller but just as heavy and awkward to get over your head. You have to keep your fingers on two buttons with one hand and the other hand on the trigger. I took a bunch of teens here for a bday and they didn't want to play any more than two games because our fingers were cramping. They were looking at the Planet Lazer website and it looked so cool but when we went the inside it was Laser Quest with a couple of large cans for decoration. In the briefing before we went in we were told not to break the packs as they are $2000 each. Very useful information--lol. There is no supervision in the maze, they said they would be out front and come get them if you need anything. Overall out of 12 of us that went, none of us will be going back.

Awful experience. We were booked in for 11am arrival and 11:30 game start. The check in process was good, we confirmed the number of party members and 4 pizzas as noted in the emails above. We were called into to play 10-15 min late and explained that one of our party members may require some assistance who is partially deaf. One of the parents asked if they could stand by the entrance to the play area as the child might need assistance. The Manager told the parent that they could not remain by the entrance to offer help if needed and could go purchase a ticket if they wanted to "stick around" and he has "cameras and does not need parents there". The parent replied that they would not return as it was not safe for this one member and the manager told her "no problem".

After finishing the second game at 12:25 we were told that the pizza's were late. The manager stood outside the location waiting for the pizza. 3 pizza's arrived just before 1pm when parents were already there to take the children home from the party. Again the manager said this was out of his control even though this was part of the party package we booked. When we asked why there were only 3 pizza's when we confirmed, paid and ordered 4 he called over an employee, told the employee he "screwed up" and offered to refund the $28.00 for the missing pizza.

The manager also told us that if we wanted, even though he didn't have to, he could put a $100.00 credit on our account for future use. We expressed that based on the way the parent was treated and kids leaving without eating due to the late delivery and missing pizza's we would not return. He told us to email planet laser with any complaints.

Overall the experience was very disappointing, the manager was rude to the parent with the partially deaf child, he was rude to his staff about messing up the pizza order and told us to email if we were not happy. The kids left hungry due to the late order and missing pizzas. In addition the manager said he would give all of the kids in the party a special card to make up for the mess ups.....he also...

I booked a birthday party for my son here, and it’s not very organized. We have never been here before, so we didn’t know what to expect. As we were preparing for the laser tag game, we had no idea what we were supposed to do or what the routine was. Our whole group just stood there questioning each other “what do we do? Where do we go?”. No staff informed us of what to do after we registered ourselves. We stood around aimlessly until they told us our game was starting. I purchased 3 games, so after the first game everyone was confused because they didn’t tell us when our next games were. We all thought we played 3 games in the one and our time was over, so 1 person went home already at this point. Then we were told our game is starting in 2 minutes so we were down 1 player because we thought we were finished. Then we got our party room after our second game, and I had to go and ask them when is our 3rd game because of course nobody told us and we were left guessing. So they let us have our party room for some time before our last game. The cake they gave us was very small, and upon purchasing the birthday package they do not specify what size the included cake is, so if you have lots of guests you might need a second cake. Also, I did not know that they charge you a fee to bring in your own food. They do not offer their own food, so what is the point in charging someone money to provide themselves what you cannot. And thirdly, I’m disappointed that we were told we will receive a coupon to give to one of our guests for purchasing the premium birthday package, which I did not receive. I’m only giving 3 stars because my child enjoyed himself. Very disorganized, which caused me stress.

*there’s also another thing that bothers me, but I’m sure there’s nothing that can be done about it. Is that you pay for a group of people, but other players that came in by themselves can join as well. I get that they do this so there is more people in 1 game, but I don’t like this. Because sometimes these people aren’t very nice, and they ruin the game...
