Esta Mississauga - Esta Oakville — Attraction in Oakville

I only wish I could give a lower rating based on experience we have had at Esta. We ordered a white Zuca frame from this place and were told that they were on back order. Finally months later we got the call to come get it, but had to pay via e-transfer first. I get there and its a pink frame, not white. So Valeri tells me he made a mistake, but to hold on to this until the white frame arrives. At that point I should have just asked for a refund, but foolish me I trusted that I would get my white frame. Here I am 4 months later, still no white frame, and nothing but excuses from him on why I can't get my money back. He's busy, holidays, not at the office. I just want a refund for the wrong frame that I never ordered. Not to mention the frequent drives to Oakville. Even before this I made multiple trips for skates, the first time he didn't show up. The other time didn't have the skates, and finally got them 3rd time. Now the frame, its never ending...I don't understand any of the positive reviews based on the service we've received here. I've never been to a store with someone so helpful! Valerie is the most accommodating, enthusiastic and knowledgeable person when it comes to skating. You can learn a lot by just listening to him.

We showed up not knowing it was by appointment and he said not to worry and still squeezed us into his busy schedule. He even stayed late past closing to finish installing and sharpening the blades for the new pair of skates we purchased. We had a skating event the next day and he wanted to ensure we could get out onto the ice. He also did the blade sharpening for free since we bought a new pair!

The skates ended up being a perfect fit on first use and we're very happy! Would highly recommend anyone interested in skating to go visit him. He'll point you in the right direction and get you on the ice in comfort.

The only thing to be aware of is the parking. It is BAD. It's paid parking and most spots are reserved for apartment tenants. I'd recommend parking in the pharmacy nearby and walking to avoid getting a ticket or pay for parking, if you can...

Valeri helped my boyfriend where others could not. I He fitted my boyfriend with a new pair of Jackson skates for a very reasonable price and worked with him very patiently in a few visits to punch out the skates in critical areas. He has a very wide foot that is half flat so there’s nothing that would fit without causing pain and through the adjustments it became perfect and he can enjoy skating and not have torture devices on the feet.

I also was “overbooted” by other professional figure skate shops (got sold Jackson competitor with an very advanced blade when what I need is was a Elle or freestyle at most). It was extremely difficult for me to break in the skates because they are way too stiff for my skill level and it is very painful! Valeri observed my feet, the fitting, and helped to diagnose my issues with the skates. He came up a few different solutions and we ended up remold the existing skates I have.
