Oh Bombay at Oakville is a great dining place, whether it is a take out order or a dine in, the food is great, the service is wonderful, and even the staff and managers are very courteous. For this reason I have been frequenting the place, with friends, placing party orders and even celebrating with family functions and parties for the past two years. But what happened today has tarnished the image of the high regards and reputation that I held this Dining place in. On 14th December I called the Oakville place as usual to place a take out order which I generally do, but was pleasantly surprised when the person at the other end of the phone told me that he would get the delivery done. He asked me for my address even before taking the order and insisted that it was the protocol, I agreed gave him the address (2316 South Service Road (w), Oakville) which is only 7kms away and would take 7 minutes. the order taker told me that me food will be at the address in 10 minutes. I asked him a few questions about a friend who used to work at the place , but was rudely told that no person by that name worked there. I just let it go and waited for the food to arrive. 10 minutes later I get a call from a lady who called to tell me that they were unable to deliver my order because mu place was 30minutes away and they had no driver for delivery, and asked me to pursue the order via Uber eats, to which i said I would come and personally pick it up. She told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes. To prove me point that my address was only 7minutes away, i timed myself and was there in exact 7minutes, and i explained it to the lady who was very courteous an polite, so I asked her who had taken my order, before she could answer the young man standing behind her arrogantly said i took the order, what's the problem? I said how come you are not aware that you guys are not aware you have no driver to make the delivery, he arrogantly stated that the lady called you to tell you that, I also asked if you did not know about it you should have checked before taking the order, and also make it a point to know if the person I was asking about was working there before or not, to which he answered very sternly with annoyance that it is not my business to know who worked here before. So i told him you should at least say, maybe he worked, but he is not here now. He again said that's not my business. by this time I asked to speak with the manager, He very arrogantly stated you can talk to whomever you want, I don't care. Than the Sikh gentleman with whom I have dealt with several time in the past, came in ,he wished me politely and inquired about me and he was surprised that I was upset, I explained to him the reason of my ire. He was understanding and tried to appease me , but the young arrogant guy was still trying to talk over him, By this time i left in disgust. I am not one person who will make an issue over things, but this person does not fit, in with the quality of discipline or professionalism of your esteemed Restaurant. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to this place with my friends, I placed an order over the phone but I told them that we gonna dine-in. we reached there n without even greeting us, a guy his name was Kelvin (i found the name on my bill receipt), brought our food. I n one of my friends finished our food n he took our cutlery away n when is saw that my another friend is also done he took his plate without even asking him. I find it very weird and then he brought our cheque that we didn't even ask for coz we were having our conversation, but it seems very strange I feel like he just want us to go, coz while we were there they got another customers sitting beside us n just to mention those customers were not desiš, I hate using all these words but that man make us feel that way that he just wanna get rid of us coz he got white customers I was disgusted with his behavior, one more thing he added tip to our bill without even asking us. ⢠Veg Chowmein had an overpowering garlic taste, making it nearly inedible.
⢠Fried Veg Momos were completely soggy instead of crispy and were overly salty. Moreover, they only provided red chili sauce, whereas momos are usually served with green chutney, mayonnaise, and red chutney.
⢠Chana Bhatura was the worstā the bhatura was burnt, and the chana was excessively salty.
⢠The cutlery provided was insufficient for the amount of food I ordered.
To make matters worse, when I tried to provide feedback, an employee named Sunpreet was rude and argumentative instead of addressing my concerns professionally. Given the price I paid, I expected much better quality and service. My dinner plans were ruined, and I had to reorder food from another place.
I hope the restaurant management takes this review seriously, improves food quality, and ensures their staff is trained to handle customer concerns properly.
