A Flavorful Adventure at Chicken Cartel: Gritty Spicy Excellence Nestled next to a carwash on Royal Windsor Drive, Chicken Cartel is a hidden gem that offers a Hot Chicken sandwich experience like no other. This gritty trailer owned and operated by a friendly and passionate chef, specializes in crafting mouthwatering spicy chicken sandwiches, alongside a selection of delectable sides and nostalgic Pop Shop sodas. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their signature sandwich, the TKO, and the entire experience left me wanting more. The industrial ambience at Chicken Cartel adds to the unique atmosphere. The gritty setting of a trailer has an authentic feeling. What truly sets Chicken Cartel apart is the owner, who works tirelessly to ensure that every aspect of the dining experience is exceptional. The owner, who is as friendly as they are passionate about their craft, goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome and at home. This personal touch adds a heartwarming dimension to the dining experience. He'll stop by and ask you if you enjoyed your sandwich if you stop to eat it on the picnic tables out back. The real star of the show, of course, is their spicy chicken sandwich. I opted for the TKO, their signature creation. Let me tell you, it lived up to its reputation! The crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken breast was cooked to perfection and topped with a spicy sauce that had just the right amount of kick. The chicken was juicy and tender, and the flavors melded together harmoniously. It was a spicy flavor explosion that tantalized my taste buds. The buttery brioche bun that held it all together was the ideal complement, adding a touch of sweetness that balanced the heat. If you're a fan of crispy and flavorful sides, Chicken Cartel won't disappoint. I decided to go all out and ordered a combination of their crispy golden fries and onion rings. Both were prepared to crispy perfection, and the seasoning on the fries was spot on. The onion rings were thick and crunchy, with a satisfyingly sweet onion inside. It was a side dish duo that completed the meal beautifully. I had Pop Shop soda Black Cherry was the perfect choice. The soda selection here is a delightful nod to nostalgia, offering a range of unique and classic flavors that took me on a journey down memory lane. The vintage glass bottle and charming label added to the overall experience. The service at Chicken Cartel, led by the owner, was impeccable. The owner and their staff were not only friendly but also attentive, The owner's passion for the craft was palpable, and they were more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions about the menu. In conclusion, Chicken Cartel is a culinary gem that deserves every one of its five stars. From the industrial ambiance, the friendly and passionate owner, and the attentive service to the mouthwatering TKO sandwich and sides, this unassuming trailer restaurant delivers a dining experience that will leave you craving more. If you're a fan of spicy chicken sandwiches, crispy sides, and an industrial atmosphere with a personal touch, do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Chicken Cartel on Royal Windsor Drive. The Chicken Cartel has really been hyped allot on Instagram and Tik tok and if you haven’t seen their videos yet and they haven’t gotten you rushing down there. Then I assure you that when you do! The chicken Cartel makes these amazing unique chicken sandwiches with flavors from around the world like nothing that you typically find around town. They have a series of regular sandwiches on the menu but come out with new variations every month for a limited time. Food 5/5 ….These guys hit it right out of the park and landed in the other park! That’s how good their sandwiches really are….Fire foodies!!!! I have tried two of their other sandwiches the T.K.O and the O.M.G chicken sandwiches and they were both 5/5 perfect in everyway . However today my review is for their showcase sandwich of this month the “SMOKIE” for $15.05 plus tax and worth every cent of that this sandwich was absolutely one of the better chicken sandwiches I have had and I have had many. This is how they describe this master piece of a sandwich. Fist let’s start by saying it’s a Caribbean jerk twist to this thing. Think how good this sounds krispy fried chicken thick tender breast drenched in a jerk chimichurri sauce, with grilled pineapple on top , a tangy cold slaw , with a scallion mayo and pepper sauce to add that heat. In a nice bun. Guys and gals I could of finished two of these it was so good . Service 5/5 top notch service from the owners/operators, super friendly every time I have been there. This place is mainly for take out , they do have one table inside with a picnic table outside for those that prefer the fresh air vibe. Don’t let this place fool you they operate out of a chip trailer but the food tastes like a five star hotel , you can feel the love and passion behind every sandwich they make with so much care and perfection into every one…This is a must try and you really have to get down there and support these guys they have the best twist on the chicken...
Read moreEDIT: I came. I ate. I conquered. Donnie… you’re a magician, brother. My previous review still stands, and now I can say that these are the BEST CHICKEN SANDWICHES in Ontario. Hands down. Honestly, my mouth is salivating just THINKING about these sandy’s, the size, the flavour, the EVERYTHING. Just do yourself the biggest solid you ever will; and go eat at The Chicken Cartel.
I’ll be honest, I myself have yet to go, HOWEVER; my father has been, and I’m writing this review on his behalf. One thing you need to know about my father is that he is IMPOSSIBLE to impress. So when he came home one night a few weeks ago, and wouldnt stop talking about this great new chicken sandwich place he found, it caught my attention. He’s been back a few times now, which means he LOVES it, because he’s the kind of guy where if he even finds one minor thing he doesn’t like, he’s not going back. He talks so incredibly highly about the size and portion you get here, literally huge. His last sandwich, he said he could hardly open his mouth wide enough to get a full bite, that’s just how big these sammie’s are. He says the flavours are out of this world, things he typically wouldn’t pair together, but now that he’s taken that chance, he has lost his mind over how flawless all the flavours balance each other out and taste. He doesn’t have one bad thing to say, he doesn’t have one complaint, and that’s a big deal for him. He also says that the owner/chef is one of the nicest, most personable people he’s ever met and loves that he takes the time to get to know his customers, and have little chats with them. He actually remembered my dads name when he went last! Lastly, my dad says he also loves the fact that the menu isn’t super big, so he’s not overwhelmed with choices, but really enjoys that the chef comes up with new creations and adds them to the menu for a short period of time to keep things interesting. All in all, this place gets 7/5 stars, if you ask my dad. Can’t wait to try...
