Downtown London BIA — Attraction in Ontario

Through my eyes not growing up here, downtown London has seen progressive improvement since moving here in 2012.

Working downtown at various locations in the food and beverage industry for most of that time before becoming a mom, it has been an absolute pleasure to observe and partake in downtown London for almost a decade.

Looking forward to more advancements and improvements to our Downtown Core!

I have countless pictures of my time in London working for the industry I hold so dearly to my heart, pre-Pandemic of course. They capture the essence of Downtown London and that is the food and beverage industry which fuels our core, in it's natural humanistic, servitude and shape.

These pictures I share are AKA stolen moments on the job (I can't apologize because to me now they are priceless artifacts) when I whipped out my phone hoping to document a moment on Snapchat I couldn't forget. Are you kidding? An average of four stars? We went down to help a friend pick up her son's bus pass yesterday. Beautiful late august afternoon in 2023. It was horrific. People passed out in front of stores, homeless and vagrants everywhere, mentally ill disrupting shoppers, addicts in a stupor curbside, empty shells of buildings, construction everywhere, no police anywhere not even in the so called "community police station". It was embarrassing. I grew up in this city. It wasn't perfect. It's always been corrupt, short sighted and poorly managed but this is criminal. This kind of decay doesn't just happen. It's a reflection of the will of the politicians in charge at the municipal and provincial levels of government. LTC was a dump by the way. When people aren't capable of feeling shame the only recourse is to feel ashamed for them. Will probably never go down there again....

Downtown London works to represent the interests of local business. They strive to ensure the core of the city is beautiful, cared for, and maintained by the public realm. It is a great organization made up of great people who share their passion for bettering the city around them.
