I love this spot. Not used by alot of the younger crowd which makes it a nice spot for the folks that have known about it since they were kids. Does have a boat launch spot for smaller crafts. It's a Rocky beachfront with stone steps directly in front of the historic building that now adays houses the bathrooms and changing rooms. The stairs into the water could use some work, especially the original ones to the right of the building which are crumbling and have been blocked off by an ugly orange winter fence for 4yrs now. I found the steps leading directly out of the bath house down to multiple tiers by the waters edge a pretty neat concept for a public beach area. There is also plenty of seating and lounging areas as well, which gives it a very relaxed open environment. Read moreI visited this in the winter. So fair warning. It was minus 15 degrees in the lake was frozen. I walked from Lake Ontario Park to downtown pretty well along the shoreline and out on the frozen lake. It was absolutely beautiful, very cool ice formations, and we ran into 50 or 60 people in a couple of hours doing the same thing. Quite a few people were skating at different locations.
