Fascinating place. It's best appreciated by people with a penchant for history and ancient machinery. Well informed and friendly staff. The star of the museum is the Keewatin. It's a rare insight into Edwardian luxury passenger ship travel. The ship tours emphasize the similarly to the Titanic in terms of accommodation and travel experience as both ships were build and outfitted in similar ways, for a similar purpose, although the Keewatin is one-tenth the size. However, as there aren't any other Edwardian cruise ships left, the Keewatin is a unique experience. It's expensive. Two adults cost $124 for a complete museum experience. I'm encouraged our admission goes towards the continuing restoration and preservation of the historic vessel. Public parking is available one block west of the museum Street parking is often restricted.

Seeing the Keewatin was a really great experience. Definitely don't miss the engine room tour if you have an affinity for engineering and technology. Besides the boilers being cut open to show you what's inside, the machinery is in remarkably good shape and there aren't many quadruple expansion steam engines you can see anymore. If you live locally, I'd wait about a year before visiting (go in the 2025 season or later) because there is a higher chance the wheelhouse and top deck will be open; you'll have an even better tour, unless you plan to come back more often than once every 5-10 years. Also, don't forget you need to make reservations.

We had a bad experience regarding the signs and ticket purchase. We came a day earlier on weekday which they were closed by the afternoon. So we scanned the QR code to purchase the ticket for the museum assuming it's in that ship located at the deck but surprisingly the day after we noticed the ticket we bought didn't belong to the ship and at 2 pm there was nothing available for the ship boarding and visiting it. All we needed was boarding the ship and see I side assuming the museum was there. We were so upset that even we didn't go to visit the museum. later on I noticed there was no info and guidance ever around the area for getting the ticket for boarding the big ship.

I will start by saying this is a guided tour, which we usually are really not fans of. This one was great. Special shout out to our guide, Lee, who made this experience very enjoyable. Even though the spaces are quite tight, the staff gives enough time to explore all the areas. Headsets are provided so you can always hear the guide no matter how far you might be. Our three kids actually very much enjoyed themselves. They were provided a little code breaker game based on facts provided during the tour which kept them engaged the entire time. A little pricey (just like everything nowadays) but definitely worth it.

I went for the SS Keewatin guided tour (passenger experience) with my elderly parents and the tour was just amazing. Even my parents who aren’t usually that fond of guided tours n museums, absolutely loved it and found it very interesting. The tour guide gives us enough time to explore the nooks and corners while taking us down the memory lane. My mom has knee trouble and walks a bit slower and the team wasn’t just accommodating but extremely attentive of it so that she can be also feel a total part of the experience. Really appreciate their service! A little pricey, but totally worth it!!

Worth taking time to stop by. This pay-what-you-can museum is just in the process of settling back into the location, but there it's still a wonderful glimpse into the ship building past of the area. Model ships and detailed, exquisite hand drawn blueprints. Staff are nice. There is a public washroom. Don't miss checking out the two impressive oil pastel portraits by Grant Macdonald. They're masterpieces.
