Can't say enough good things about this cafe - went three times in a day and a half when visiting Kingston and would have gone again if scheduling permitted. Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the coffee to the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the location near a park and the water. My first sip of an Americano literally made me laugh because it was so amazingly flavorful compared to what we were used to at highly regarded coffee shops back home. The three different pour overs I had were all excellent, and the attention given from start (helping me select the beans based on my preferences) to finish was impressive. SENS clearly cares about the coffee they serve and the experience of the customers. It was obvious that there were regulars either settling in to enjoy the cozy, friendly atmosphere or getting their morning coffee and pastry (great croissants!) on the way to work. Huge thanks to Eric, Dara, and Violette for the great coffee, conversation, and welcoming experience. I love making coffee at home, but I'm sure I'd be in daily if I were local!

Our first time was 8:30am on Wednesday. The atmosphere reminded me of the morning go train, no one is talking and don’t talk. It was all single people reading, working, or trying to find a moment of peace and quiet. My wife and I were the only people talking. The place is clean and bright, great location, the service is fast and friendly. Not many coffee places known for breakfast. We were looking for breakfast food to have with coffee. The only breakfast option was what looked like a hamburger bun, with egg and cheese premade wrapped in plastic and cold. a coffee and latte was $10.00. the drinks are good and again service was excellent. The place similar to Kingston doesn’t wake up early more, becomes lively as the day progresses. Note: updated the review based on feedback from the owners reply. Unfortunately we were not aware of the details of the food options the food supplier has excellent google reviews and the meat looks amazing. Recommend if your from out of town or staying at downtown hotels give the place a try.

So close to a 5/5. Like super close. I'd say it is a 4.95/5. The reason I'm not going all the way with 5/5 is their incredibly slow internet. 1.6mbps download and 5mbps upload. It'd be faster to connect my cell phone to my laptop. Now I get it. Some coffee shops intentionally do this so they can say they offer wifi but don't want it fast so people stick around all day. I'm just not...nah. If I have to do any photo or video uploading, this can't be the cafe I go to. Now for just straight forward text searching on the internet or text work, this is a good spot for that. So that's internet speeds aside. Food - Fantastic. Cookie was a bit too salty, but still delicious. Cappuccino was perfection. Service - 10/5. Customer service is super friendly, helpful and always has a smile. Not to mention if you are French speaking, they very much support that at this cafe. Atmosphere - Perfection. The music is playing BUT, and this is a huge thing for me, it's quiet. We can hear each other while we talk and the music is deep enough in the background not to cause a distraction. The place is very clean and well laid out. The utilization of the space is excellent. There's enough tables and chairs for its size without jamming more in the area, and there is still open space for people who want to come in and quickly get their coffee.

Conclusion: Really close to the most perfect coffee shop I've ever been in. I even restarted my mac laptop to confirm the internet was as slow as it was 'cause I felt bad not giving it a 5/5 rating. Sadly...it is that slow. However, if you don't need fast internet, this is a perfect place to go to in Kingston. You will not be...
