I do not want to give you a low star rating, but I do agree for those people who have give you a low rating for a valid reason. I stop coming here after February 2022, and this is my last time there and I will never visit back here again not even a centimetre going in there. My family use to buy our salmons and fish products from there until we stop as we see the live fish cramped in crowded aquariums with poor torn fins and limited spaces of 4 metres as they are farmed raised fish as the poor fish have higher chances of being such exposed to diseases that you may have higher chance of getting you sick. When I bought their tofu there. Most of them were covered in mold and one of them I bought has it. My last visit there was some Japanese instant ramen there and was expensive way before inflation cause more increase for everyone in the province of Ontario that cause groceries to be more overpriced to afford. The restroom there is not cleaned and the floors should be sweep and mop regularly to run a clean established business. I do not recommend buying the meat from there. Ground beef is way clean, high quality and Canadian made all fresh for 4 kilograms for the price of $40.00 at Costco on Wonderland Road. Salmons are way fresher, cleaner and cheaper per kilogram at Costco, and same for Farm Boy the one in the Masonville area. I use to come here for hot sauce, Japanese products and after I accept the bad experience for some customers of their food. People work hard for a dollar, and they don’t want to spend a dollar for bad quality food and service. I am sorry, I will not be coming here for grocery accessories again. If people who complained about the food is spoiled or the staffs not being friendly towards you then just take your business somewhere else. Shop for your groceries at Costco, Farm Boy, Sobeys, etc. Customer service also need to handle every situations with complaints, theft, food quality, sanitation, etc. They need to improve their business and competition in the food industry. People may shop here since inflation and may find their food cheaper there. I don’t recommend eating the food court there since it is not always the freshest as you can get sushi such as Sushi Galore restaurant at Hyde Park location. I hope you have fixed your mistakes when operating a business. Best luck to your business.
Update: Getting out of the car park at United Supermarket is even hard as well in a narrow 6 metre or under limited space; if you are trying to turn left on Adelaide Street that takes you to Oxford Street and downtown London, Ontario; good luck with heavy traffic with lots of cars during rush hour to passed through. Turning right is easier as it takes you to Sunningdale Road to Masonville area. Unless you want to park your vehicles at the plaza close to Pet Paradise there and easier to get out since they have traffic lights there. What can you do, Adelaide Street is a busy road that goes from Commissioners Road near that Big Al’s Aquarium pet store to Sunningdale Road passed the Tim Horton’s, Petro Canada, Mary Brown’s and Dollarama plaza there. United Supermarket is located in the middle of a busy street on Adelaide Road that is why getting out of there is so hard, eh. I use to go there a few times a month a long time ago and then once in a blue moon (rarely go there) and then I stopped going there. I found that Food Island Supermarket just across from Finch Chevrolet and close to Costco on Wonderland Road is the best for Asian groceries that also has a near by Starbucks, Shelby’s, Pucci Brother’s Italian restaurant and Coco’s bubble tea in that area. United Supermarket also have to handle situations on their property when something is vandalized or theft there. I hope your business can run successfully. I go to Asian grocery stores before in Mississauga, Ontario and they are always clean and better service there. United Supermarket can do the same and be a successful Asian grocery store in London, Ontario just by putting the effort into it. Good luck, United...
Read moreNeeds a little better ventilation near the fish counters of the store it's quite pungent. Other than that a great selection of vegetables and products good prices and a very good place to shop if you're a single person. A lot of vegetables are sold individually so you don't have to buy a package or a bunch or a bag. The worst part about single shopping is that you end up with a lot of food waste because of how things are packed. this store has a wide variety of fruits and vegetables individually displayed so you can buy just what you need. It's a few pennies more expensive buying individually but in the long run it's actually worth it.because there's less food waste cost.. grocery stores are not designed for single people they're family designed lots of bulk, lots of packages, and because of this the Individual item costs makes it expensive to shop singlely . this store is designed like a market not a corporate grocery store the individual prices are reasonable for today's costs that is. The meats/fish are very fresh. It's actually become my number one grocery store and by shopping there individually my grocery bill has actually gone down 12% because I no longer have the food waste cost in my kitchen. And if you're lucky when you walk in there will be somebody handing you a piece of exotic fruit to sample ,couple weeks ago when I went in the samples were of jackfruit.. one of my personal favorite fruits.. they also had breadfruit and a lot of the exotic fruits they have are very reasonably priced. It only loses one star because of the ventilation near the...
Read moreI try to avoid coming to this store but when I’m the area I do pick up a few things. Their produce is ok. Their dry goods and canned goods ok, their frozen seafood is reasonable priced. Their fresh seafood and meat department is TERRIBLE!!! Bought two BC crabs last month for my husband’s birthday, was given one alive and 1 dead. $40 for 1 live crab and 1 dead crab. Called the store, spoke to the seafood department and employee who stuffed the crabs into the brown paper bag had to audacity to lie and say those crabs were just delivered the day before and it was not their responsibility, tough luck too bad basically. Yesterday bought pork loin from the butcher department, used in cooking today. The pork had terrible sour smell, $10 in the garbage and no lunch for my kids today. I wouldn’t say avoid the store however use due diligence and perhaps smell your meat before purchase, double triple check that the seafood department doesn’t try to sneak in dead seafood. I wouldn’t write a negative review unless something really pisses me off, however expired meat and seafood is not a one off in this store. Take another 10 minutes and drive down the street to Oxford West and shop at Foodland instead for your needs. I’ve never had any issues of dead seafood or sour meat there. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, I won’t be shopping here again if I...
