Today, I visited Churis Bread. It’s an artisanal bakery. It’s highly rated, but I’ve never found the time because I’m almost always busy when they’re open. I made sure to really enjoy what they have to offer.
Fortunately, they have booths to sit in. I sat down in one and bit into my first pastry. It was a pistachio croissant. By looking at it, you can see chopped pistachios on the outside; on the inside, however, there is a sweet, creamy filling. I would describe it as a pistachio flavoured custard. Incredible.
Then, I sunk my teeth into a chocolate chip cookie. It was light, soft, and moist. It reminded me of cookies from a bakery in my hometown of Moncton, New Brunswick.
My indulgence finished with a classic Boston cream donut. It was airy and doughy, yet the chocolate topping was fresh. They did a great job of putting a lot of custard.
Now, Churis has proved its worth. Their pastries were masterful. Old school bakeries are few and far between, but they ARE still out there....
Read moreVisiting London for the first time, I checked this bakery as a friend of mine recommended. I checked this company's Instagram and really wanted to try their pistachio pastries as I love pistachio, so I bought everything they had with that. Got home and tried one by one. All of them were to die for but my recommendation is the roll filled with this "mysterious pistachio cream" that is a perfect match for this pastry. It's not too sweet, it's not too much and it's perfect. They have parking in the back of the store, which is good. You must try their sliced bread with grains and seeds. I tried mine tosted with butter... perfect with my black coffee. You should go for it. Staff is very friendly. They have a small selection of Brazilian products on a small rack available as a last-minute, life-saving need when cooking...

Despite the anticipation from watching them bake daily, I found the cheese bomb to be too firm and with a strong smell, which wasn't to my liking. Additionally, I've had better chocolate croissants elsewhere. Overall, it fell short of my expectations, making it a disappointing experience.
Note regarding the reply from the bakery - I have lived in Europe for 5 years and I have tried croissants many times. There is no harm in accepting and trying to be better. Maybe the day I went to have it, it was not the best day! This is extremely rude and unacceptable to make such remarks to customer, I didn't get the stuff for free, I paid for it and I have right to...
