My cousin and I waited in line for about 12 minutes at the Wings and Fries station. When it was finally our turn, the cashier (an older woman) looked at us and said, “Were you even in line?” We explained that yes, we had been waiting. She then gave us a dirty look, made a face, and in a very disrespectful tone said, “OK, what do you guys want?” Despite her attitude, we responded politely and asked, “Can we please get a large fries?” Five minutes later, we returned to ask for forks because she never gave us any with our order, unlike what she had done for the customers before us. We said, “Can we please get two forks?” She immediately asked, “What did you order from me?” I replied, “A large fries.” Then she said, “Why didn’t you ask me from the beginning when you got your order?” I explained, “Because I need them now, and you never gave me any forks with my fries.” Her response was, “Well, I’m not giving you any forks.” Then, almost contradicting herself, she handed me just one fork, even though I had clearly asked for two. Honestly, that kind of behavior is unacceptable. My cousin and I were polite and respectful the entire time, but she treated us with rudeness and negativity. It completely ruined our mood. We were enjoying our day at Western Fair until this experience. No customer deserves to be treated this way, and she should not be working in a customer service role if she can’t treat people with basic respect.

Parking was a nightmare. Horrific parking lot with dead end lanes and angry people. Beware. Big crowds and long lineups in the rides area, the building that used to have high energy venders has dramatically faltered - programming of events and shows could be made more visible - farm animals could be more accessible (petting zoo, or developing more educational interaction with animals). Music/band area could’ve had some heating lamps & a beer/bar tent for what the fair is charging to get in. There’s no sign or information telling you who’s on stage, even the staff couldn’t answer the question. Not enough signs to show the way to different locations - handing out a paper map is not enough. Too expensive for what you get in a county fair. $20 admission - should be half that if not less. Rides are approx $12.75/ea or $50 for 1 ride on each. Things got really sketchy as the sun set with increased security & big bully cops showing up in bullet proof vests. Started not to feel safe. It looks like they got a big crowd of teenagers but they are losing Millennials & Gen X - and that’s the demographic that bankrolls the youth and keeps the fair a family event. Western Fair could and should do better.

Really great set up this year compared to the previous years. Love fnag you go straight into kiddy land as soon as you get there. The kids didn't have to walk too far. The layout was great. Absolutely loved the variety and quantity of food items. Was not a fan of the food prices, but that's expected. Thought I'd be wow'd by a $28 cheese curd poutine. Sadly, not. Oh, the SLUSHIE station had a TON of bees. Avoid if you are allergic. The SLUSHIE was more of a juice than an iced drink. Would like to see more animals in the future, if possible. A lot of rides were out of order. No huge lineups on the first Sunday morning. Lots of fun acts and entertainment to see!

I enjoy going to the Western Fair district for different events or whatever might be going on here but I do have a service dog and sometimes it can be very stressful going here because not all Western Fair District employees are aware of what a service dog is or the rights I have to be able to bring my service dog in with me and I've been given a hard time and once even told I had to leave with my dog or police would have been called even though I politely explained to them that she is a service dog and that she is allowed to be with me everywhere for medical reasons. I know what my rights are and I did not leave I simply said if you need to call the police on me because I have my extremely well behaved service dog with me then you do what you think you need to do. I and my service dog were detained by Western Fair District employees for about 30 minutes until finally someone who knew the laws and understood that I had a service dog and that my dog was absolutely allowed to be with me everywhere I was finally allowed to continue to shop at the event I was at but I was not given an apology or anything like that at all I was simply let go to continue on shopping. Bottom line if you have a service dog be prepared for the likely possibility to be detained because they obviously do not inform their employees of service dogs and or the rights the service dog handler has to have the dog accompany them...

To whom it may concern,

I have dined at Dekes many many times with always having a great experience and amazing service.

However Today august 10, 2024 all that great experience build up was thrown out.

I arrived at Dekes around 5:00pm and there was only one individual operating the place. I could tell he was a bit frustrated as there seems to be an entire hockey team having had ordered food, and he was by himself, so I took a seat and waited patiently for him to come over and ask me what I wanted, just like all my previous experiences.

He walked by my table a few times as he was getting the teams food, and I locked eyes with him and nodded, to indicate that I was waiting, and he carried on doing his thing.

Many people came in after me sitting in various places and he helped some, while others were just left unspoken to.

As I am finishing typing this email up, it is past 6:00, i am still sitting at my table and he has not made any attempt to come and ask me if I wanted to order anything (which I did, as I was extremely hungry and was looking forward to ordering the usual wings).

One of the worst experiences that made me feel un-welcome and deterred from even visiting this place.

Please consider hiring Individuals with professionalism in their field, who understand customer treatment and how to make a customer feel so they want...
