Britannia Beach — Attraction in Ottawa

This is my favourite and a public beach in Britannia area, Ottawa. This park with beach is an attractive place for families and sunseekers. One of the best spot to see sunset in ottawa region. This is also great for morning walks and taking pets for walk.

This is one of the places in ottawa where people come to sunbathe and take a dip in water during summer. The park has barbeque pits and we are also allowed to bring out own barbeque setup if required. The beach is filled with volleyball courts during Summers with lots of people. I have also seen several people paraboarding and fishing.

The beach has small burger shop and also the famous ice cream shop "Beachcorners"(5 mins walk from beach) which is a must have in summers. The beach has large free parking area. This beach is also easy to commute with bicycle as its side of the Trans...

What's not to love??!!??!!

This place is bliss and all of the specially curated sections cater to all different kinds of folks and activities - beach/swimming and all that fun under the sun kinda stuff, conservation/protected marsh area (bird watching 😍) fishing off the rocks, picnic and family fun area, off leash dog park section, trails to run/walk/bike, gorgeous trees and landscaping overall, etc

I was reminded of how amazing this spot is when I took my doggo there for a play. The leaves are all sorts of beautiful colours and the air was crisp.

If you haven't had a chance to check out this area, then I highly recommend that you do... And soon before you miss the fall foliage in...

Don't you just love our local govt.?

A couple of years ago they closed the beach and hired a contractor to dredge the bottom up near the beach. When they declared themselves finished, they left all the rocks they had dredged up scattered all over the beach. There were few rocks on the beach before they started their work.

Now, many people bash their toes, hurt their feet and trip on the rocks, both on the beach and while in the water.

For crying out loud, when you hire someone to do a job, how about checking the job after completion and telling the contractors that they have to clean up after themselves "BEFORE"...
