Good morning, sorry if you get this twice but I managed to hit the wrong button on my computer before I was finished my review.
I have attended many performances at Centrepointe Theatre and enjoyed everyone except for Christmas with Elvis, starring Ben Porstmouth. Ben himself had a lovely voice, which he demonstrated when he sang one song acappela. As for the rest of the performance he was literally drowned out by the excessive musical back up, both band and brass section. The MC was sooooo loud, even with your fingers in your ears you could barely dim him. Also the giving out of the scarfs was cute the first time, funny the second time but definitely tiresome the rest of the time. The same women went home with 2 or 3 if not more scarfs that night as well as little teddy bears.
On a positive note Ben's back up singers were a joy to listen to and I am sure the choir, had they been given the opportunity, would also been a pleasure to hear.
All and all, for a performance advertised as a Christmas with Elvis, there was very little Christmas in...
Read moreGetting into the facility was a breeze, which is always nice when you’re heading to an event. I really appreciated the free parking just at the venue. That’s a huge bonus and takes away a lot of the stress! The staff working there were also fantastic; everyone was so nice and welcoming when spoken to. The theatre space itself was very comfortable. The seats were clean, and the view was perfect; it was easy to see the stage and enjoy the performance without any issues. The one thing I thought could be a bit better was the organization to get you inside. It felt a little confusing trying to navigate the lobby and figure out the best way to access the actual theatre doors. Another issue was people calling their kids during the performance using video and voice which was annoying and disrespectful, someone from staff need to monitor room and talk to those people who don't...
Read moreAppalling online purchasing system and contact centre. I tried to buy two tickets to an event via their website, but couldn't because some of the venue's rows had only uneven numbers and some only even, and the system would not let you buy tickets that are one space apart. So, naturally, you simply cannot purchase two seats next to each other. Tried calling the contact centre to buy the second ticket by phone, but it was closed 15 minutes prior to the time they were supposed to close, as per their website and the message. "Please call again between 10 am and 8 pm" at 7.45pm is not a pleasant thing to hear when you know someone might purchase the other ticket you need by tomorrow. Oh yeah, you can't do that even if you register another person. I guess, they keep track of your IP address and won't let you. Just ludicrous...
