What an incredible experience with Doctor Andy Biro and his friendly staff at Longevity Aesthetics in Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island. I knew the sun was causing damage to my skin and when I was much younger sitting in the sun for hours was never a problem, at least that’s what I thought. After reaching middle age the results of sun damage were starting to show from sun spots to veins some that can lead to skin cancer. I went in for my free consultation and Doctor Biro was quick to point out what needed to be done and how to prevent it in the future. I had my first treatment yesterday using lasers to burn off old skin and allow new skin to grow in 1-2 weeks. Dr. Biro’s professionalism and mannerism is five stars in my opinion, he was so educational explaining why sun block is needed on a daily basis even in the winter when the sun’s ultra violet rays can still cause harm. He explained the differences between sun tan lotions so I understood what to look for and picked up a one of his recommended sun blocks from his office. The doctor and his whole team at this clinic are warm, genuine, kind and companionate. I had my first Venus Viva treatment and everything went very well. The technician was kind, personable and very knowledgeable. They even sent me home with a couple of post treatment creams for recovery; with no extra charge. You get the sense that its a business but with a heart. It not so much about money but rather helping you look your best and working with your budget. UPDATE - Feb 24 I have had a total of 3 Venus Viva treatments and my skin looks amazing. About 3 months ago I had Botox injected in between my eyebrows. I can't tell you how something so quick and painless makes such a difference in your appearance. Yesterday I had my lips injected and they look amazing; so natural looking and with no pain during the procedure. I also had additional Botox injected in between my eyebrows to keep the area smooth.After only one day, I can no longer frown. Andy is a very kind and supportive doctor. I have received several treatments at Longevity (now Demapure) and have generally been happy with the results. For my birthday, my mom gifted me a Clear and Brilliant treatment. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, I developed melasma on my forehead, specifically along the hairline.

When I mentioned this during a Botox appointment, the nurse confirmed the melasma. From my research, I learned that this can happen to some people, but I was never informed that it was a possibility beforehand. They offered me a SkinCeuticals product at cost to help, which I appreciate, but I want to make others aware of my experience.
