We'd visited the West Parry Sound District Museum years ago to pass a rainy day camping at Killbear. I was back this time with one of my adult kids on a day trip to Parry Sound. On this visit, the Lions Room Gallery had an exhibition related to the Waubuno shipwreck. The Roy E Smith Room housing more permanent installations has an amazing model train set up showcasing rail history in the area. Several life-size dioramas are present - I think the raccoon might get the pie on the windowsill! The basement gallery is currently hosting a history of the Parry Sound curling club. We had fun playing "floor curling" on the model curling sheet.
A great part of the Tower Hill area (along with the Heritage Garden and, of course, the Tower), the WPSDM is well worth a visit.

From the tower we can also walk around through the forest and reach the rail line you can take great pictures in the rocks. Parking is limited during rush hour.
