Charles W. Stockey Centre & Bobby Orr Hall Of Fame — Attraction in Parry Sound

I recently visited the area and even though I was never specifically a Bobby Orr fan I am a hockey fan so I had to stop in. The Hall of Fame is relatively small, but nice. On the lower level they have Bobby Orr memorabilia from his youth hockey days in Parry Sound to his final NHL season and post-player days, and everything in between. "The Goal" obviously takes a central and prominent stage. On the upper level they have a few more of his trophies and awards but most of it is dedicated to interactive games for the kids (in age and at heart). They of course have a gift shop as well. I wouldn't say it by itself is worth a visit to Parry Sound but if you're in the area its definitely worth an hour or two of your time. Based on the signs and advertisements in the lobby area they also seem to have regular musical performances. I was only there for part of a day so I couldn't attend one but would definitely try if I am in Parry...

Was back home for a visit and decided it was time to visit Bobby Orr museum. I was very impressed with how well it was all set up with Bobby Orr memorabilia. I was also very happy to see that they made a wall of all the athletes and coaches from the area that have also achieved great accomplishment. I had no idea that Parry Sounds and the surrounding area had so many great athletes and coaches. I'm looking to see who new gets added to the Bobby Orr...
