October 2021. 4.5★ During the fall season, this place can get a bit crowded. After all, this place boasts free limited parking and is close to both lake Wilcox just a 10 minutes north by bike and Jefferson forest just about 15 minutes by bike. This lake is smaller than lake Wilcox, but is still a nice lake with a trail around the lake. You'll find some people fishing, some paddling on kayaks and once in a while, someone surprisingly swimming. To get to the lake, there is a steep hill. Most people who cycle, generally dismount and walk their bikes down. As your descending down the hill, you see glimpses of the lake with the sun shimmering across it. The fall colors begin to turn in the background. Once your down, you'll pass by an old abandoned house before getting to an open boat launch area. From here, you can continue on the northern trail or wander off into the woods. Option 2 takes you eventually to a dead end, fenced lined, where some either go up or around it to continue forward. Going down this path also takes you to a makeshift dock made of down trees and pieces of scrap wood nailed together. Careful if you go out here. Overall, a nice...

How someone can come to a place as beautiful as this and leave broken beer bottles and trash all over the ice so that it goes directly into the lake and pollutes the water is beyond me. Please please don’t leave trash behind if you visit. This is a kettle lake and a very sensitive ecosystem. It’s our home and home to many animals that live here. Please let’s do better and treat this place with the respect it deserves. This kind of behaviour is exactly the reason why many lakes are not accessible to the public anymore and why a lot of places that used to be free have hefty admission fees. And of course if you visit in the summer and think about going for a dip be careful because now you might cut your feet on broken...

Amazing place to walk but don’t park there, I want all the spots. There is a lot of mosquitoes so use mosquito repellent. Not appropriate for biking because there is a lot of tree roots. (Would be difficult even for a mountain bike.) The path is very narrow at certain points so hard to keep social distancing. Limited number of spots for swimming but don’t take them because I want them. The water is not the best quality to swim and it is pretty dirty. The water is also full of leaves and algae. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to go around the whole lake. There is a lot of beautiful nature along the path including...

Recently visited Bond Lake (fall season) to see the changing color leaves and I must say not only the walk was AMAZING but the scenery was super gorgeous. The park is clean and well kept. The walking path is clearly indicated and paved so that you are not going off trail. The trees are very healthy and provide so much shade so its pretty breezy when you enter the trail. And the most important part is that this place is all natural and is not man-made. If you like walking and enjoying scenery, recommend this place that is within driving distance (under an hour from downtown core)
