Located in a strip plaza right beside farm boy grocery store, is this wonderful kebab House that specializes in Afghani cuisine.

Reservations:not needed

Food: 5 ⭐️ We ordered the tandoori chicken w/Kofta dinner, Waziri dinner (chicken kebab with kofta) and a kids kofta meal (Kofta is minced ground beef shaped into a long rectangular skewer and grilled to perfection.) The dinner is under $20 and includes rice salad and naan which is so fluffy and sprinkled with sesame seeds. The naan is one of the best I’ve had! The kids meal comes with the choice meat and french fries and a juice either Apple or orange you can also substitute for a can of pop.

Service 5⭐️

Cashier was patient and courteous and provided options for us to choose from without feeling rushed. Hubby does not eat tomatoes so we asked them on the side for our tomato eating daughter and they obliged graciously. Thank you!

Employees cooked the food deliciously to order but what really impressed me is that our food was served as a team to our table so it would be as fresh and hot as possible for us to enjoy. Wow! Might I also say that the white sauce is a nice pair to the fries and I literally love the red sauce. It is a definite fave of mine and must try since the recipe at another not-named-here-chain can’t replicate what uncle (founder and owner) did.

Atmosphere is gorgeous inside with clean bathrooms and seating.

Many were doing takeout to bring home for family but I say dine in is best! I will try other dishes for sure…had my eyes on the chopan dinner (lamb chops) and sultani (filet mignon)

Parking is abundant and free!

Also, I saw they had bubble tea and coffee machine but I was so full I did not try...

Tonight, I ordered 2 Tandoori Kofta Dinners for takeout. There are 4 things that Caravan Kabob House Richmond Hill needs to improve on. One, they need to improve on their Beef Kofta. Their Beef Kofta was not cooked properly! It was well done on the outside and raw on the inside. The Beef Kofta was dark pink on the inside! Additionally, the texture of the Beef Kofta was too firm and rubbery! It was like I was eating rubber! Inside the Beef Kofta, small sticks of onions were noticeable! The onions were chopped by hand, instead of going through a Food Processor. Two, they need to improve on their house seasonings and spices. It’s way off! The Beef Kofta had an unusual taste to it. Three, their Tandoori Chicken Kabob Pieces are too small and did not have enough Tandoori Marinade. I could barely taste the Tandoori Marinade on the Tandoori Chicken Kabab Pieces! Four, their Salad barely had any White Salad Dressing! The Salad was very plain. Their white sauce is mayonnaise! They must use fatty yogurt, sour cream, and dried mint. Their red sauce is red vinegar water! There are no chopped red chilli peppers in their red sauce!! They must use a whole lot more chopped red chilli peppers than they are using now!!! The only two things that were excellent was the Afghan...

After getting a haircut around 19th ave, it was around 6 pm so I hopped on Yelp and found this Afghani spot a 5-10 min drive away around Stouffville Road.

The resto is quite large and can comfortably fit many guests. There's also plenty of parking available as the resto is located in a strip mall.

I ordered a wazeri dinner which was a combination of chicken breast skewers and kofta kabob (minced meat) skewer with rice, salad and some bread in a side basket. I also ordered a mango lassi to wash it all down.

I took one bite of the bread and that was it. It was stale LOL. The mango lassi, while not bad, was definitely not thick enough and actually tasted more of other tropical fruits like passionfruit, orange and pineapple than mango.

But the wazeri plate.

Wow. The rice was fluffy, moist and seasoned so well. The chicken breast was tender, juicy and had that charcoal flavour. The kofta could've been more tender but the spices were sooo good. I absolutely crushed this plate. The salad was a perfect complement to cut back on the richness of the meat.

Shoutout to Kiana who helped me out with her recommendations as a first-timer!

Would definitely return again if back in...

I've been here a number of times dining in or taking out. Each time, the food and service were amazing. I love Kofta, and there are not many good locations in Richmond Hill, I'm so glad this one opened up so close to home for me. They are slightly higher in price compared to my previous usually locations. But their food more than makes up for it, like omg! They meats are juicy and very flavorful, and their portions are huge, even for take out. Now about their bread... everywhere else I've been, it had just been "bread".... I don't know how they do it at Caravan, but they make theirs slightly smaller, but yet it is so much more denser, fluffier, and tastes amazing just on its own! I'm making it a personal goal to try every item on the menu over time. Currently, I have tried the chicken breast dinner, kofta dinner, chopan dinner, chicken kofta dinner, and all were amazing.
