I am not too fond of the renovations to the common areas of the shopping centre. Not many restrooms either. Not even one in the food court area, but further away, through a service corridor, ir you can go upstairs in the office area. You will find the newly refurbished men's restroom stalls are fastened with all types of nuts and bolts. Makes me laugh every time! The ceiling in the common areas were partially complete! You can see all the areas the contractors missed. It's sad to see the copy and paste in the ownership of the shopping centre. No more fountains, trees, plants, comfortable seating areas. Just plastic plants now and ugly rows of seating in the common areas and worse... the food court. From a colorful, beautiful mall, they went really dull and grayish. I must say, the selection of stores are good. A few you won't find in other shopping centers. I must emphasize that there IS ONLY A FEW! Being different from other malls, as far as store selections go,, offering a beautiful decor and lots of natural light, seating and fountains, incredible Christmas decorations and displays that will wow shoppers at the business shopping months of the year, and you will have a wonderful mall for the community and people who want to visit from outside the area. Now, you are adding apartments and townhouses to the shopping centre. It will not be the only difference that you will need to make. The noticeable imperfections and improvements need to also be implemented to not only have people coming once or twice, but more often. Also, each has to be unique in it's own way so people will want to experience and explore every mall and not just use it as a shopping experience for the most an hour, but spend a few hours. The longer a customer stays, the more they will spend, so add anchors which will again keep the patrons in your centres longer. Don't be like everyone else. Innovate. ...
Read moreHillcrest Mall, located in Richmond Hill on Yonge Street, is a medium-sized shopping centre that offers a variety of retail options and a clean, well-maintained environment. The mall is anchored by notable stores such as Hudson's Bay, Sporting Life, and Marshalls/HomeSense, providing a solid mix of fashion, home goods, and sporting equipment. This diverse selection ensures that shoppers can find what they need, whether it's clothing, electronics, or household items.
However, there are areas where Hillcrest Mall could improve. The food court, while offering decent options, could benefit from a broader selection of cuisines and healthier choices. Expanding the food offerings would enhance the dining experience and make the food court a more appealing destination for visitors. Currently, the food court's variety is somewhat limited, which may leave some shoppers wishing for more options.
In addition, the mall would be further enhanced by the inclusion of popular clothing retailers like Zara and Mango. These brands are highly sought after and would likely draw more visitors seeking contemporary and stylish fashion. Introducing such trendy stores, along with potentially adding luxury brands like Canada Goose, could significantly increase the mall's appeal and attract a wider customer base.
Overall, Hillcrest Mall is a good shopping destination with a range of stores and a pleasant atmosphere. With improvements to the food court and the addition of popular and luxury retailers, it has the potential to become an even better spot for shopping in Richmond...
Read moreHillcrest Mall offers a charming and relaxed shopping experience, especially compared to the larger, busier malls in the area. Located in Richmond Hill, it provides a nice balance of popular retail stores and specialty shops. The mall features a good mix of fashion, electronics, and home goods, with stores like H&M, The Bay, and Forever 21. It’s the kind of place you can go for a few hours and still be able to comfortably browse without feeling overwhelmed.
One of the mall's best features is its accessibility and layout. It’s easy to get in and out of, and parking is typically hassle-free, which is a big plus. Inside, the mall is well-lit and clean, with wide walkways and seating areas, making it comfortable to shop or take a break in between browsing.
The food court is a bit on the smaller side, but it does offer a solid selection of quick bites, from Chinese food to fresh smoothies. There’s also a Starbucks, which is perfect for grabbing a coffee while you shop.
Though Hillcrest isn’t as massive or as flashy as some of the other shopping centers in the region, it has a warm and welcoming vibe. It's great for a more low-key shopping trip, especially if you’re looking to avoid the crowds. It’s also a family-friendly destination with a nice variety of stores for all ages.
That said, it could use a few more trendy or high-end stores to appeal to a broader range of shoppers. The mall has a cozy, neighborhood feel, which is perfect for a relaxed day out but may not satisfy those looking for a more extensive...
