I used curbside pickup since COVID started. Initially, they are quite good even though the prices are quite high. In June 2020, I bought another batch of fruits and found rotten kiwi in the box. It took 5 emails with actual pictures to get my money back in August. The kiwi costs $8.99 and when I got the refund, they deducted the cost of the curb side pick up $4.99 proportionately. so instead of getting $8.99, I got 30 cents less. when their produce is rotten, I still have to pay for the curb side pick up fee.
On October 4, 2020. I thought I will try T and T again. this time, I had to wait over 35 minutes after I arrived (I arrived at my designated time of 5 pm). the customer service representative told me to wait and I waited, waited... then when the grocery came out, it took two guys to bring out 4 bags. they shoved everything in 4 bags and I heard them said something about the eggs in Mandarin. That was when I started to worry about how the groceries were packed. Also, they never apologized for the delay. The two guys then went to their smoke break. It certainly looks like that they do not care about their customers. Mind you, T and T charged us $6.99 (now $4.99) for every curbside pickup. these poor souls probably got none of that .
when I went home, I discovered my groceries were all tossed inside without any consideration of glass bottles, eggs etc. The glass bottle of bamboo shoots did not get wrapped in newspaper or foam. There was also rotten mango in the box. Two of my produce (Radish and nappa) were not wrapped in plastic bag and were tossed inside a plastic bag. Also, they put the price sticker on top of my nappa cabbage and no price sticker on the radish which violates the consumer retail pricing and food handing rules. Overall, it was a horrible customer experience. When I reported to T and T online email, they said I had to report to another department and totally ignored my feedback on the eggs being tossed together with the milk carton, and the lack of sanitary handling of the nappa cabbage etc. they totally did not care .
I never got the refund for the mangoes and NO ONE from their customer service acknowledged the poor customer service.
T and T is supposed to be managed by Loblaws , but it certainly behaves like the old mom and pop shop. I will be reporting the lack of hygiene of food handling because they don't care about cleanliness or customer service. they care only one thing : money.
right now, we may have to use T and T because of curb side pickup convenience. Honestly it is NOT convenient when you had to wait 35 minutes to get your grocery.
I will start shopping elsewhere. It is just simply disappointing!
January 2021 update: they refunded my order after this review. The customer service response was written so poorly that it made me laughed. They said they would punish the person . Their service is still inconsistent because my last order in December has a glass bottle and it came without a wrapper. The delivery person did not even bother closing my trunk. She left it open for me.
If you want good service, you may have to go to the woodbine or warden store .

Read moreMy wife went to buy a pound of ground beef and noticed the top batch behind the counter didn’t look as fresh as the other batches in the front. She asked one of the young male butchers to get the ground beef from the fresh batch but he refused. He said if he gets it for her he needs to do it for everyone. I’m not sure what he was talking about as there was no lineup at the meat counter. He just got the ground beef from the old batch and gave it to us, then proceeded to talk to the other butchers complaining about us as though we couldn’t hear them even though we were still standing there.
About 5 minutes later I went back to the butcher area to try my luck with another butcher. This butcher was an older gentleman around 60 years old, short with glasses and he seemed nice. When I ask him for a pound of ground beef from the fresh batch he said no. When I asked him why, he said it would make the ground beef area not look nice. I then asked him again politely why he couldn’t just get me the meat from the batch I wanted and he said it depends on how much I wanted. So if I only got a little I’d get the meat from the bad batch and if I bought more he would get me the meat from the fresh batch? Like what the! Another customer beside me was also astounded by the attitude of the butcher and asked him why he couldn’t just give me what I asked for and the butcher just ignored him. I asked the butcher if he was the manager and he said yes and his name was Jay. He also started talking trash in Chinese to me thinking I didn’t understand because I was speaking to him in English.
In the end I talked to the store manager Alex but I’m not sure if anything happened to Jay and his padawan after.
I think it’s ridiculous that the butchers can decide what meat to give you if you specifically tell them what you want. Some meat you can tell has been out longer than others as the colour is different. Why should customers be forced to take the older cuts of meat? People get to choose what vegetables, fruit, bread and milk they want and meat should be no different. Shame on T & T for hiring staff especially in a managerial position that treat customers with such poor attitude and also train the other employees to be like that as well. If the roles were reversed and they went to a meat shop and asked for fresh steak and the butcher says no they must take the old one from the front that expired the next day, I wonder how happy...
Read moreMy family doesn't shop at T&T often. Their veggies and produce are good but VERY expensive. In fact, MOST of their products are higher priced than a lot of their counterparts due to being under the Loblaws banner (take anything for example like a bottle of soy sauce).
However, this review is SPECIFICALLY geared towards an elusive item that they recently introduced: PAPA CRISPY CHICKEN.
My family tried for 2 weeks to nab one of these birds but it kept evading us. I think they don't have that many fryers and because the birds are fried whole, they can only stick so many chickens into each one at a time. Also, one of the ladies told my mom that they only stick like 5-10 chickens into the fryer(s) in each "session". My mom called in, was told to rush over in 5 min and by the time she arrived, they told her all the chickens were gone and she'd have to wait til 12:30pm (it was 11:20-ish when she arrived).
So on to the taste. The chicken is very different from say southern fried chicken like Popeyes. The chicken has very obviously been seasoned aggressively. If you're a garlic lover you will absolutely love this chicken (I happen to love garlic haha). The garlic flavour permeates throughout the meat. I think they brined the chicken and then slathered garlic paste all over it as a marinade overnight before frying.
They provide 2 dry spice dips to go w/ each chicken in their respective box. One is a spicy salt and the other one is a dry chilli rub seasoning.
The chicken doesn't need the dips at all as there is MORE than enough flavour.
To be honest, I do prefer the flavour and crispiness of southern fried chicken more but the breast meat on this Papa Crispy Chicken was way better. The meat was more moist (most likely because the chickens were smaller than usual commercial chickens).
Every so often on Tuesdays, instead of ordering my couple, tuesday Popeyes 2 pc specials, I'll crush one of these birds by myself. The part that sucks is how often they're unavailable because of the...
