We visited the river twice (evening and mid-morning) but unfortunately missed seeing the reversing phenomenon at the optimal time. It's important to check the schedule beforehand to witness this unique natural event. Despite this, the bridge offers a spectacular view of the surrounding area, providing a great vantage point to appreciate the scenery.

If you're visiting with young children, be cautious on the bridge. The gaps between the bars are wide enough for little hands and feet to fit through, so it's easy for items to fall. Keeping a close eye on them is important to ensure their safety.

Overall, the experience was still enjoyable, and I would recommend visiting the river when the reversing phenomenon is happening to make the most of your trip. It's a fascinating sight and definitely worth...

Dont let any other reviews fool you. This place is an amazing find right in the middle of Saint John city. There is a lookout point which is right on the other side of the bridge.

You can park for free right at the entrance facing the skywalk restaurant. There is a stair case that goes down right up and close to the river.

Make sure you park your car, walk down the stairs, once done go all the way across over the bridge to the lookout point. You will gat multiple opportunities to take pictures of this natural marvel provided you make it in time for shift from low tide to high tide.

Check the tide schedule to plan accordingly. Check out my pictures of...

We were able to watch all phases of the flow. The tide pushing up the river upstream, slack tide when there is no current (approx 20 min) and the tide going out and the river flowing out to the ocean. Look at a tide chart to see what it will be doing when you are there. There is a Tim Horton's just a short walk away if you want a coffee and doughnut or you can have lunch at the visitors center
