We had our daughter's BD party at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park, and we were absolutely blown away by the entire experience! If you’re looking for a spot that delivers fun, relaxation, and top-notch facilities, this is it.
🏊 The Pool Area is INCREDIBLE! The aquatic center alone is worth the visit. The wave pool had us all laughing and splashing like kids (even the adults!), and the lazy river was the perfect place to unwind and float our stresses away. The water was clean, warm, and the whole pool area felt spacious and well-maintained. Whether you’re a swimmer or just there to play, it’s a total blast.
⛸️ Leisure Skating = Pure Joy! The leisure skating session was another highlight. The ice was smooth, the rink was spacious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly. It was such a fun way to spend an afternoon together—no pressure, just gliding and smiling!
🧒 Playground Paradise! The indoor playground is nothing short of AMAZING! Our kids didn’t want to leave. It’s vibrant, safe, and packed with creative features that kept them engaged for hours. It’s clear a lot of thought went into designing this space—parents can relax nearby while kids burn off energy. A huge win!
✨ Standout Staff & Smooth Setup! The reception team deserves a special shoutout—they were patient, kind, and genuinely helpful from the moment we walked in. Their warm welcome set the tone for a great day. The facility itself is exceptionally well-organized and spacious. Locker rooms, seating areas, and activity zones all flow seamlessly. Everything felt clean, modern, and thoughtfully arranged.
💯 Final Thoughts? Perfection! Millennium Place isn’t just a rec center—it’s a destination for families, couples, and anyone looking for quality leisure time. We left with tired kids, big smiles, and plans to return very soon. If you’re near Sherwood Park (or even in Edmonton!), don’t...
Read moreWe had a great time at Millennium Place! This is the largest recreational centre I’ve ever been to, there are so many things to do here. There’s skating (with multiple rinks) and free use of skate aids and ice grippers, plus swimming with a wave pool and lazy river. There’s also two indoor kids play parks, and rock climbing with some interesting rooms off of it for the younger ones, and a standard youth room with games like ping pong, air hockey, pool, old school arcade games, and newer systems to play.
They also have a decent sized gymnasium with everything you’d expect, and indoor soccer fields, which were being used for children’s programs when we were there. Throughout the centre, there are plenty of seating areas beyond the cafeteria, which is great for parents or anyone needing a break.
The lockers are spacious, with both keyless and coin operated options available, which is super convenient. The facility itself was clean and well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout.
For everything you get to do there the entry price is a great deal. Like others have mentioned, though, the food is overpriced for what it is, two hot dogs with fries and a pop came to over $30. Also, having the option to tip when we’re just grabbing our food (not being served) doesn’t make much sense and could be reconsidered.
A heads up for those staying at the hotel connected to Millennium Place: we found out the hard way that the entrance from the hotel side is locked for some reason. You’ll need to walk around outside to get to the centre from the hotel, but when returning from Millennium Place to the hotel, you can use the pedway.
There’s lots of parking, though it was pretty busy even on a weekday, I’d expect weekends to be even busier. We’ll definitely...
Read moreMillennium Place - There’s something different about walking into this gym. It’s not just a workout—it’s a mindset. As soon as I walk through the doors and go upstairs, I’m greeted by the words painted on the wall: “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” And honestly, that says it all. This place isn’t just about reps and sets—it’s about building a better version of yourself from the inside out.
Every day, the whiteboard asks a new question—sometimes funny, sometimes deep—and it always makes me pause and reflect. It’s those little things that make Millennium Place feel more like a community than just a fitness center.
I use the LifeFitness app on my iPhone to track every workout, and it couldn’t be easier. I just scan the QR code from my phone, and everything syncs up. It's like having a personal coach in my pocket.
Cardio on the elliptical is where I find my flow. I love going on the virtual hikes, and Trinity Mountain is my go-to. There’s this moment when I reach Crag Falls and the sunlight breaks through the trees—pure magic. Whether I’m listening to a podcast that sparks growth or a playlist that gets my blood pumping, I leave every session feeling stronger, refreshed, and ready to take on the world.
One of my favourite quotes says, “Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.” And every time I show up here, I’m reminded of what I want most: a life full of energy, purpose, and intention.
As the saying goes, “Those who think they have no time for exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.” That’s why places like Millennium Place matter—they’re about longevity, quality of life, and living with intention.
This gym lives up to its purpose. Millennium Place—because this really is what...
