Avondale Food Stores — Attraction in St. Catharines

Young girl there is absolutely ignorant... She came around, I don't know, a year or so ago...Before, I would go here all the time and had great experiences. At one point I was going there a few days a week and had made it my regular stop for most needs, and even to just say hi. Since she was hired, I've gone less and less. Shes incredibly rude, will even give you snotty looks AND REMARKS, and makes everything seem like a HUGE ask. I asked for my change she was giving me (roughly 4$) to be loonies rather than toonies. She said no because she was off in an hour. I asked how that has to do with the loonies and she said it means she would have to count them before she left her shift and that it's a pain to do. My visit before that, she asked to pet my dogs, I said no as they're nervous. She begged, I said if they back away then to leave them alone. She tried touching them, my dog tried to turn around to leave the situation, but she still tried patting her butt, causing my dog to try and bolt away. She didn't care, even though I asked her to stop. She tried again. Then I stood right between her and my dog....she's lucky she wasn't bit, chasing a scared dog. Respect and common sense isn't so common when it comes to this girl. I'm not sure how she still has a job here. I won't be going back again. 4 bad experiences with her, and she's only getting more rude...

Mis priced items. I stopped in to get some Mr.noodle as my toddler is sick and is refusing to eat anything but the Mr Noodle noodles, so I went in and grabbed around 10 packages and then saw a toy set at the side that I hoped would bring up her spirits, which was priced at $8.99 and had more than one box under that price tag. I took it to the counter and it scanned at $14.99, I advised the clerk that it’s priced at $8.99 with many sitting in that spot, and she argued with me for a few minutes until she agreed that I should get the $8.99 price and she should fix the pricing. Then didn’t offer to give me a bag for the 10 packages of noodles. Just shoved them into my hands. I’m very happy I drove to this location as the walk home would have been hard with that many items in my arms. Her attitude was unnecessary. I understand things can get moved around in the store but there were more than one of the items I grabbed sitting under that price and should not have had to explain that to her. It’s not my fault as a customer that the items in your store aren’t adequately priced. Most of the time this store provided amazing service which is why I’m providing a 3 star rating. The younger white guy that works there closes it 15 mins early every single day that he works so don't count on the normal store hours.. they aren't accurate any more. I used to stop here on my way home from work very regularly.. now half the time I walk up to the door there are 3 or 4 other people just like me, getting there to find the door closed and then standing there confused because it's literally like...15 minutes early, really? Maybe 3-5 minutes for safety, but Everyone else that works there stays literally right until the end so he should be able to as well. Or they need to stop scheduling him on night shift, because fifteen minutes early...
