Absolutely terrible experience. I went here with my girlfriend for the first time to watch Black Panther on opening night because it was sold out at Cineplex theatres(which is usually where we attend). We first get there and the ticket booth outside of the theatre was completely empty with no one there so we walked inside. As we walked inside, we noticed a sign on the wall saying “Please visit concession stand to purchase tickets”. We weren’t too sure where the concession stand was considering there was a stand where they were selling popcorn and food but the sign above it said Refreshments. We figured the concession stand was further in the theatre. We walked past a line of people that had purchased tickets with no clue as to where to purchase tickets. As we walked by, the usher yelled at us and said “Nice try! Go and buy your tickets.” We were instantly shocked by his assumption that we were trying to “sneak in” to the theatre. We instantly went back to go purchase the tickets and had apologized for the confusion but the usher continued to say nice try as if we had intentions of watching for free. After we purchased the tickets, he said again, with a smile on his face, “nice try”. We told him we’ve never been here before and we didn’t know any better but he was suggesting that we were lying and just attempting to watch the movie for free. Absolutely ridiculous and very much embarrassing to be put on the spot like that in front of a large crowd. We were hoping to have a great time in a boutique movie theatre that, as well, is nearby our house and our time was spoiled by...
Read moreI recently visited the Caprice Theatre to watch the Tamil movie "Leo," and I must say that while the movie itself was decent, the theatre experience was truly enjoyable. The Caprice Theatre, despite its age, has maintained a level of excellence that's hard to find elsewhere. What impressed me most was the complete absence of any unpleasant odors, a testament to their commitment to cleanliness.
The seating arrangement was spacious, and the seats were comfortable, ensuring a pleasant viewing experience. I appreciated the extra legroom, which added to the comfort.
The highlight of the evening was the fantastic snacks, including some delicious popcorn. The quality of the snacks greatly enhanced the movie-watching experience.
What stood out even more was the interaction with the theater's dealer, who personally rented the theatre and managed the show. He openly shared his enthusiasm for screening new Tamil movies and encouraged us to inform him whenever a new release is on the horizon. This level of direct communication with the person responsible for the theatre's operations was refreshing.
In conclusion, the Caprice Theatre is an excellent place to enjoy a movie, and the dedication and openness of the dealer make it all the more appealing. I look forward to returning for future Tamil movie screenings at this wonderful theatre.
Lots of free parking spots...
Read moreVery disappointed unfortunately. ☹️ The theater is a major fixture of South Surrey/White Rock, and a lot of history has certainly been built there (by me as well when I was younger.) However on my most recent visit after a while away, I found a theater neglected and in need of care. No upholstery on any of the arm rests, with some having the cupholder ripped out or the arm rest cracked lengthwise. The seats were still comfortable, but had noticable tearing in a few areas on some. The screen was all good and I still enjoyed my film, and the price you're paying is certainly a steal compared to larger theaters, but it's still noticable the disrepair these things were in. This is less of a knock against the theater and more a plea for management to please look into amending these things, to bring this to the stature I remembered it being when I was younger. I was so excited entering in, but left more nostalgic and saddened when the...
