Casino Nova Scotia Sydney — Attraction in Sydney

3.5 stars Saturday night Vegas buffet. All you can eat goodness. Roast ALWAYS cooked too well done and never really warm or hot shame; much better when they had leg of cow instead of smaller roasts; had various temperatures and cooked levels then. Didn't need gravy to try to heat it back up. Mashed potatoes, carrots & rutabaga mashed always good & hot. Salads great with exception of potato salad... always mashed up to much almost to point of being whipped. Coleslaw excellent. Bbq pork chops dry but sauce hid that fact well. Home made mac & cheese just cheesy enough to hold moisture and heat & good taste. Hard to do in a buffet setting (koodoos to the chef) turkey vegetable soup had almost too much turkey in it... good complaint to have. Bottom line for $10 including the tip and tax... can't get a better price for quantity of food. Service very good...

The Casino is not as clean or kept up in the style you expect from a Casino. It is understaffed particularly in the cleaning staff. It is nearly impossible to win. And is true what people say here, the same people seem to win. The floor staff are all good with a couple of exceptions. It does not have a casino atmosphere. The atmosphere is like a low class shabby restuarant. And something that is very annoying is the free gifts they give away most of which are an insult. And finally the have changed their system to collecting points. Personally I am one of the people removed from their mailing to receive their monthly booklet of monthly activities. I was told I was removed from the mailing list because I don't spend enough money. The staff know the difference and tell me a lot of people have been treated...

The casino itself is just like a casino. I don’t go to such places, but the machines look nice, a lot of people come here, there is a bar and coffee. Even cool interactive golf for 35/hour. Monitors to watch different games (curling, hockey, etc.) ...But this is all formal part of my review, I wanted to write about something else... about the people who work here from lunch until night. I'm new to Canada and met a lot of kind and polite people, but I have never met such helpful people as several evening security guards and the administrator who worked here on the 21st and 22nd. I think the clients of this casino are in good hands with these wonderful people I had met here during my two...
