A Refreshing Slice of Ontario Charm Date of Visit: Monday, June 23, 2025 Thornbury, ON Our visit to Thornbury Craft Cider was an absolute highlight of our day in the Blue Mountains region. Set in a beautifully restored building with a welcoming vibe, this spot blends small-town charm with big flavor. We kicked things off with their Rainbow Flight of ciders—a vibrant lineup of unique, fruit-forward blends like Blackberry Yuzu, Raspberry Limoncello, Pear Apple, and Blood Orange. Each one was crisp, refreshing, and full of personality without the acidity that often accompanies ciders. We also sampled a flight of beer, which offered a great mix of styles for craft lovers – light lager, witbier, and blueberry pomegranate sour. For lunch, we enjoyed a chicken wrap with sweet potato fries—light, tasty, and the perfect pairing for our drinks. The food menu is casual but well-executed, with something for everyone. One of the things we appreciated most was the inclusive, LGBTQ+ safe space atmosphere. The staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. Whether you're a cider enthusiast, beer lover, or just looking for a great place to unwind, Thornbury Craft Cider delivers. Great drinks, great food, and even better vibes. We've been many times, and we will be back!

My boyfriend and I are from Toronto, we tried Thornbury cranberry apple cider 2 years ago just from the LC and it is so amazing it has changed our lives! We had to write a love letter to the company to tell them how incredible it is. Our annual vacation this year was planned around going to this cider house because we just love it so much! We had a road trip and stayed 4 days in the area. We had flights and snacks in the whole experience was incredible. Highly recommend the blood orange and I liked the Elderberry one too even though I'm not usually a fan of that flavor. The restaurant is really close to a beach so after having a sausage roll (which was very good, the sausage inside was different than normal) we walked down there for a bit before driving home. Then after we came back but before leaving we got a bottle of literally every single thing offered to take home (only like $105 for BOXES of cider). Their award-winning spiced cider that tastes like pie is so good it made me cry. I should have bought more than just 2!

I came here with my friends because one of them hyped up Thornbury’s cider so much that it made me want to give it a try. Apparently, there are certain flavours (i.e. rosé/blood orange) here that are not available for purchase at LCBO. These flavours are only exclusive at Thornbury so if you made the drive here from the GTA, you better stock up. Chad, our waiter was AMAZINGGG. There was a bit of a snafu with my group but Chad handled the situation professionally. Please give him a raise, he’s the best waiter I’ve ever encountered. Thank you for taking care of us. I highly recommend the flights here. Honeycrisp was my favourite because it went down easy and it felt like I was drinking Nestea. Try all the different flavours and after you’re done, I recommend you can go to the front and bring cases of the cider home. In terms of food, the menu is limited, there’s sausage rolls, patties and charcuterie boards but really, you’re here for the ciders!!

We recently visited from far away, we drove 3 hours to visit blue mountain and stopped at thornbury cider as we are BIG fans of the ciders. We had high hopes as we’ve been long time customers of the drinks and couldn’t wait to visit. Our service was normal, and we don’t have anything to comment on that as the server was just doing her job. The drinks were good as we expected. But the low review is for the food. I can’t even begin to describe how bad the food was. We looked at the menu before arrival and knew we wanted the brisket sandwiches and the kids menu burger for our 1 year old daughter. Me and my husband both work in the restaurant industry, now if you have a kids menu, to the brain of a parent that means “this is a kid friendly place” I am disgusted at what was served. The burger we ordered for our daughter was so salty it made our lips burn and pucker. We immediately said no we cannot serve this to our child. Children have very sensitive kidneys and if you are serving food to kids a nutrition aspect needs to be considered. There was no veggies served with the meal, at the restaurant me and husband work at our kids menus have a small portion of veggies like carrots, cucumber or a small side of fruit, it is very common to see this on kids menus. When we asked if it could be remade but with less salt the server said “it comes pre-seasoned”, we then asked if we could change it and get the kids pizza, when the pizza arrived it had a STRONG plastic smell, had a puddle of oil on the top. It looked like a microwave pizza. HOW CAN YOU SERVE THIS TO CHILDREN? I was so angry, our daughter, hungry watching us eat our food, thankfully we had a fruit pouch and she ate that. Our food also was horrible, the meat again was incredibly salty, we didn’t eat the fries, the meat was so dry and tough. But we adults just ate it because we were starving. But our daughter simply could not eat this food, even a fast food chain like Wendy’s and McDonald’s kids meal comes with vegetables or a milk/juice or a yogurt. SOMETHING at least a little bit nutritious. If you are not going to do food properly and with quality, much less a kids menu, don’t do it at all. If the place only offered drinks we would’ve arrived fed and simply got drinks but to advertise food and that you are a family friendly place and then serve this frozen, greasy, horrible food, is appalling. We had high hopes that the food would live up to the quality of the drinks but it failed miserably. Finally we said enough and got our bill and on our bill was BOTH kids menu items, when our daughter didn’t even eat a bite of either one due to the poor quality of the food. We got 1 of the 2 items taken off the bill, but to even put it on the bill and our server say “yes you do need to pay for both” was so so frustrating and we left very dissatisfied. I strongly urge that anyone with kids or looking for food don’t come here. For a drink and nothing more it is an ok establishment. We will not be giving this company anymore money, they have lost...

2025 Sept. 26th - We had a few problems here with drinks, food and service. I'm not sure I would recommend. Hopefully it was a one off night.

6:00 pm - Someone in our party got mild to medium food poisoning from their Clark's Smash Burger. Onset was swift.

Someone in our party didn't receive their order when everyone else had gotten their order. They had to walk inside to point out one meal was missing. It had to be rung in and then cooked and served after everyone else in the party had finished their meals. ** We do give this restaurant FULL GOOD MARKS for not charging for this delayed meal without the customer even asking for it.

Minor issue: One ordered sparking water with no ice, and one ordered tap water. This did not happen, it was backwards. So one went inside to ask to switch out their FULL iced tap water to no ice sparkling. Then they got a new un-iced water that was still not fizzy enough but customer didn't say anything... basically gave up. They still got charged for two drinks; they didn't notice when Bill was paid.

Note: Their soda water is from a sodastream machine that worked for one friend who asked for tap water, but not for the person asking for sparkling. It was weird.

Waiter seemed overwhelmed, sort of slammed a drink on the table wordlessly before "running" away; it felt pretty rude in the moment. They didn't check on us after some other very nice young man delivered some of the meals.

Note: Not a lot of obvious Keto options.

Pros: The Briskett Sammy, Beer Battered Haddock and yam fries was delicious. The outdoor patio was nice: there are stairs to climb to it. Free amble parking.

A customer was wandering aimlessly in front of and behind the bartender, then an observant employee in the back employee only room, she immediately came out without asking..., to helpfully enquire could she help. She could and she did re locating restrooms. What a lovely employee 💯 Def. promote that one with such a great attitude!

Thank you for the automatic discount. It was much appreciated.

All the best to your...
