Beautiful, beautiful location. Mackenzie beach is just steps away with access to rental equipment right on the beach (kayaks, SUP's, surfboards, wetsuits). The beach is a nice and quiet protected beach in the summer and in the cove there are beautiful tide pools with all kinds of sea life to explore. A five minute drive away is Chesterman's beach which has nice big waves if you want to play in a stronger surf. Don't miss the sunset from the beach! Beautiful. The campground is very well maintained - the sites have fairly good privacy and the staff were courteous and friendly. My main problem is the narrow road connecting all of the sites. They have trees and shrubs that make it impossible to easily back a trailer in. We camp a half dozen times every summer and this was by far the worst time we have ever had trying to get our 22 ft trailer into a site. We had to back it in and unhook while at an angle because of trees and shrubs in the way. It should not have been rented to us, it was impossible. We had to park it right in the middle of the site because we couldn't line it up how we wanted because of a hedge across the road that made it impossible to swing in how we wanted. Also the road should not be a two way. This road is too narrow for big rigs to meet one another head on. It's crazy that they didn't make it a one way. It's dangerous. There were loads of kids there, my kids absolutely loved their playground. The showers were nice and clean and the campground felt very secure. It's pricey but it's worth the money they charge. I wouldn't return because of the terrible amount of maneuverability due to the narrow road. Others there told me they have suffered trying to park in our site (#21) also, so it's a known issue with certain sites for sure. If you have a motorhome I think it would be easier but not a super long one as many sites are shallow. Check the dimensions on the map for sure. Also a number of sites (including ours at 21) have electrical boxes right beside them that hum constantly - which was unfortunate for us. Hard to lay back and enjoy nature when you've got an electric hum in the background. Overall I loved the campground and the location - but we won't be returning because of how hard it was to get in and out of our site. We will stick to the private campgrounds with wider roads that allow for more easy access and less of a nightmare after a long drive.

My first time and a special request for my birthday. Actually, more like my birthday wish and I got it. It was one of the best birthday ever. The weather cooperated so we had sunny skies and great sunsets. The energy of the place is awesome. I wasn’t well when we stayed at Crystal Cove somehow it has a special energy that can help heal a hurting soul. We had the best cottage#14 overlooking the mighty ocean and cove. I love the fact that the place is pet friendly because we like to take our dogs whereever we go. They were so chilled and enjoyed not only their walks on the beach, but the warmth of the fireplace. For early December, the temperature was not bad at all. If you have children, ask for cottage #14 because it has an attic, just for kids to romp around. UPDATE: Since the original review for this resort in Tofino, we have stayed at Crystal Cove a few more times especially after all Covid restrictions were lifted. I must say, the resorts health and safety protocols are quite good. Staff do not interact as much with guest, but they still make sure that we have everything we need to make our stay hassle-free, and our own vacation running smoothly. I honestly love staying at this resort. Somehow, the place itself has a little bit of that mystical feeling in it. I was more than pleased, I left rejuvenated. Thanks to the wonderful, friendly and helpful staff as well. My family and I look forward to our next visit. If you’re looking to visit Tofino and need to rest and relax, then consider stayng at Crystal Cove Resort. You’ll be happy you did.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crystal Cove Beach Resort - A Family Camping Dream! We just returned from another unforgettable stay at Crystal Cove, and I can’t say enough positive things about this magical place. The staff are absolutely incredible—genuinely kind, caring, and always going the extra mile to take care of their guests and this beautifully maintained property. The RV spots are clean, spacious, and come with full hookups, making it a breeze to settle in and relax. The hot showers are a total win—cleaned daily and always warm—and the laundry area is such a helpful bonus, especially when you’re traveling with kids. Now, let’s talk about the playground—it’s EPIC. Think: a large play structure, swings, a big sandbox, mini cabins perfect for pretend play, and even a boat to climb on. It’s the kind of place where kids can spend hours exploring while grown-ups enjoy a moment of peace. One of my favourite parts? Crystal Cove is just steps from Rosie Bay and MacKenzie Beach—both stunning, sandy, and super family-friendly spots that are also sheltered from the wind. Perfect for beach days that actually last all day. And don’t miss the adorable coffee shop attached to the office—great coffee, delicious snacks, and the perfect place to warm up or grab a treat before heading out for an adventure. We already can’t wait to come back. Whether you’re an RV family, staying in a cabin, or just looking for a relaxing coastal escape, Crystal Cove is truly our spot to camp in Tofino.

Our family stayed in cabin #36 for a five night stay.

Staff were all friendly and helpful for the few questions we had. The cabin was great and the kiddos had a lot of fun. Easy access to the beach and a kid friendly site with a park. We are also smokers and sometimes can feel looked down on at certain sites even though we are respectful. We didn’t feel this here at all which was sort of a sigh of relief.

We had a 3yr and 5yr with us. Both very rowdy and energetic. Those cabins are nearly sound proof. Which was great when our kids were roaring and ready to go at 6am. The cabins are close together as mentioned in some other reviews but you have blinds and as I mentioned before, the cabins are pretty sound proof.

We read reviews before booking. Some things that stood out was mold in the bathroom. Our unit didn’t have this. Another review pointed out the furniture being horrible. It’s just The Brick style quality mid-tier furniture. And that’s fine. You aren’t driving to Tofino for the couch. Have a few toddlers running around and that couch can feel 5 stars anyway.

One thing to note. While expensive. It would be great for the second floor window to have a remote blind. You can’t see into other cabins but someone was flying a drone and it hovered for a solid 5 min. Maybe something to note when guest come in. Either way if any footage was taken, residuals would be nice (kidding)

Cabin prices are on par or lower than most other places. Another place we normally stay cost about $600 a night these where around $350 for early season.

Lastly. The cherry on top. Our kids got sick and we decided to leave reluctantly a day early. Within 10 minutes of dropping the keys off in the drop off box we got a call asking if the stay was alright. When we mentioned it was great and the reason for leaving the manager decided on his own accord to take the cost of that last day and add it as a credit for future stays.

We weren’t expecting that since these places are in high demand, we where already going to be return customers now we are just return customers that left a 5-star review and will recommend to our...

PET OWNERS. There was somethings we enjoyed about our time at Crystal Cove, and somethings we didn't. The location in Tofino, and the beach access were fantastic. The dog washing station was also a handy feature. Complimentary firewood and ice were nice.

We weren't very happy when we arrived to our cabin and found the cleaning wasn't the best. The email we received before check went over all of their rules for the cabin and additional fees you could be charged for any additional cleaning for pet fur, dishes, etc. We messaged the office about the first thing we noticed and they were quick to offer to come in to clean the missed area, and send a bottle of wine/chocolates for the trouble. Later in the evening though, we noticed most of the dishes (which are the guests responsibility to clean the ones they use (no dishwasher) before checking out or else they would receive a $40 cleaning fee) were dirty... so we opted not to use any of them because we didn't feel like washing dishes in order to use them and then washing them again before checking out while on our vacation. We were also disappointed to have paid an $40 pet fee but be given strict rules to not allow our dog on any furniture/ linens and to only use the pillow case thin "dog bed" they provided or be charged an additional $40 pet cleaning fee, to not allow the dog on the second story balcony/ walk way, and to not leave the dog unattended in the cabin for any length of time. We brought our dog blanket and bed from home, so no biggie for the first rule, but not allowing the dog on the balcony or to be alone in the cabin wouldn't allow for your entire party to use the hot tub at once. We realize not all dogs are capable of being left alone in a cabin for 30 minutes, but an unfortunate rule for those who have dogs that can. So I guess put your dog in your car while you sit on your...
