Today I experienced a VERY strange and a VERY hostile behaviour from a dark-haired woman working behind the front desk / cashier at 6:00pm, August 6. I have been shopping in this store for the past year, and I never once had any issues with customer service â everyone has always been very friendly and helpful. Today, however, as I lined up waiting for my turn in the changing room, this worker at first ignored me standing in there, and told another woman to move forward. Immediately I said that Iâve been waiting there for a while, to which this worker says that you must âline up in the frontâ. I pointed out that I let her know that I intend to use the changing room next, and she has seen me standing right in front of it, so I was genuinely confused and baffled, as this is something that was never an issue before. This worker did not say anything else, just motioning for the person to go ahead, â and, mind you, she did not say sorry to me about the confusion at all, and she only said âsorry about thatâ to that person. Awful and unfriendly from this worker. I will definitely never come back since I faced such a deeply strange and unwelcoming experience. I donât know if this was racially motivated from her side or she just intended to make me uncomfortable for no...
Read moreThis is hands down one of my favorite stores in Toronto! đ If you love vintage treasures, adorable stickers, illustrations, ceramics, accessories, and an overall eclectic collection, this store is a must-visit. It feels like a hidden gem where every corner holds something special.
Iâve visited twice now, and my experience has only gotten better. On my most recent visit, I discovered that they also have a basement areaâsomething I initially thought was restricted. When the staff mentioned it was open to explore, I was so pleasantly surprised. The basement is incredible. It feels like stepping into the dream space you imagined as a child: cozy, colorful, nostalgic, and full of character. The layout is charming, offering a sense of comfort and safety, making it especially enjoyable if you prefer browsing without distractions.
The items here are well-curated, and the prices are reasonable for what youâre getting. On top of that, the staff are welcoming and kind, which adds so much to the experience.
If youâre a fan of vintage finds and unique gifts, or just looking for a peaceful, whimsical space to explore, I canât recommend this store enough. It truly deserves...
Read moreThis 2-level 'vintage bazaar' is not quite in Kensington Market proper, but just northeast of it. There's a main level with various 'stalls/kiosks' selling curated vintage items. There's a basement level with more stuff. Curated well if you don't know where to look or are lazy. Pricing is ok. I am over my vintage find days; some interesting Y2K type stuff like Parasuco vintage jeans or tops, other booths highlight their personal interest/aesthetic (i.e. there's one that is very tropical Florida). Your mileage may vary. I would suggest considering the condition in which it appears and the actual cost of the item, and the country where it was made. I don't think 3rdhand vintage is great as the person is doing 'markup' as they found it somewhere else for a much cheaper price. I am also a bit over that 'vintage smell'. Again, cool look-through for clothing. There are other knicknacks like cards, stickers, badges, ceramics, etc. More for a younger consumer and most likely not for your mom, though. Fun finds but I am not their target demographic. Cute look-through on a Sunday afternoon with a...
