If I could rate this restaurant a negative five stars, I would. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant experience in my entire life. I made a reservation at this restaurant with a group of friends for my friend’s birthday. Once we were seated, we were handed these flimsy pieces of paper that did not include the same menu that was provided on the website, which already made us slightly skeptical. I am also a person with celiac disease, meaning that I have a severe gluten allergy and the website clearly stated that there were gluten free options available. However, when I asked the waitress about these gluten free options, she acted extremely inconvenienced by sighing dramatically and stating rudely while walking away from me that she would have to ask the manager. Now the manager, Amelia, who claimed to be the owner of the restaurant, said that she did not have a gluten free menu or a drink menu, but that she’d “try and whip something together.” I asked her to specify because I don’t take my gluten allergy lightly, I reminded her that it is a severe allergy, and she mocked me by asking if we “flew in here on a private jet”. She did not seem to know very much about gluten at all, because she asked me if salt and pepper was gluten free, which should be common sense to someone who is claiming to have gluten free options at their restaurant. She also said she wrote the menu and that she makes all the food herself. After proving to me that she was unsure of what gluten even entailed, she continued to mock me by claiming she TOO had a severe gluten allergy and that she knows exactly what she’s doing. Then, during our wait for our food, she asked the waitress to bring us all shots, which we told her we did not want. She insisted on giving us these shots and we explained that we didn’t want them, nor did we want to pay for shots. However, they were brought to our table and she said she owned the place and would give them to us for free. We learned later on that she was not giving these shots for free and that she charged us for them anyways. I should also add that she gave us these shots, and other alcoholic beverages without asking any of us for our ID, we are all only 20 years old, some of us still look extremely young. But anyways, my meal was brought to me with a tiny piece of meat that looked and tasted like a hamburger, and a small portion of vegetables soaked in garlic (which I couldn’t even finished because they were so garlicky) and a pile of leaves with sea salt that she claimed to be a salad. I was disappointed and left extremely hungry, but the most infuriating part of all of that was that she charged me $32 just for that disappointing meal alone. That meal wasn’t anywhere near being worth that much. That is not including the shots she said she wouldn’t include on our bill, and the tip that she added onto our total on her own accord. When we asked to pay separate, she did not allow us to, and she refused to give us our bill but instead, made us take a picture of it. Which seemed sketchy and extremely unprofessional. There were multiple other complaints I have but these were just the main points I wanted to make. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone and I will certainly not be coming back. Real ones...

Read moreThe place appears very fancy online, and my family were there to treat ourselves and I was prepared to spend the money but the experience was very disappointing. I read poor reviews online and decided to give it a try anyway. Big mistake.
Honestly the food was delicious, however extremely small portions for the very expensive prices, not economic for a family. Also received a printed out piece of paper for the menu, not usually a picky person for this kind of thing...I usually dine MUCH cheaper but tonight was special for my family, and I was disappointed to see a paper menu. It just seemed so out of place for a restaurant with such a fancy design. I have not seen that even at cheap burger joints.
Also when looking up the menu online before booking, I saw a chicken dish that I was very interested in. I already knew what I wanted to order before we got there. I saw that it wasn't on the menu so I asked the waitress. The waitress was very kind but did not have any knowledge of the items on the menu so she kept going back to the chef to ask about several things because their menu was so unclear. Someone in management (or maybe a chef) was sitting in another section in the restaurant within earshot (the place was empty, we were the only ones dining) and she said rudely to the waitress "no chicken". So I didn't eat what I had wanted, which is ok, but they should only be displaying what they are actually serving since many people come from far and only have the online menu for a reference. They also didn't have a dessert menu or a menu for drinks. The waitress only told us they had a strawberry creme dessert, and limoncella which is a shot of lemon flavored liqueur. So only one selection for a dessert.
My mother ordered a tenderloin steak, well done (Yeah she is weird). It came back raw with blood. My mother asked the waitress if the chef could put it back on the grill for well done. Came back still pink. She had to take it back three times before it was well done.
I won't be going back and I would not recommend it. Only 3 of us dined, and collectively we spent $180.00CAN not including the tip. This is one appetizer to share, 3 main dishes, 3 coffees, and 2 desserts. We didn't even order drinks. That's ridiculous, we definitely could have fit more food in our bellies. The place is attractive because it is literally across the street to the Ontario Place and the Budweiser stage....BUT NOT WORTH IT. You can dine at other places that are much more affordable and leave satisfied and happier with...
