Yes I am also a tribute artist singer and I would have enjoyed the music more if the style of music was more lively and maybe even additional musicians. On opening day they have a special price of $10.00 and the highlight for many people's day was to see rock legend Burton Cummings at the bandshell. Beside the bandshell this year instead of BBQ rib kiosks that had a variety of select food deals for six bucks. The opening act for Burton Cummings was a solo country singer who talked a lot about his song, sang acapella and some songs with his guitar. In my opinion this was a very bad choice of an opening act. A professional promoter would never make a mistake of this magnitude. This performer would be more suitable for a small venue and certainly not an opening act for a rock singer. Overall would I recommend the CNE.. YES. it is good value for activities for the whole family. I would recommend that the CNE allow input from professionals in the industry to attempt to have the greatest shows and entertainment given there budget and other constraints. I would have liked to see magic shows, circus shows, variety and novelty acts as main performances not confined to the small busker stage. Maybe next year they could have a Vegas theme. The CNE is one of the largest fairs in the world and people expect the best value for there money. Oh one more idea could be to have every area caterogorized for age groups or style. For example in the back area they have a kids area with rides and entertainment suitable for kids. (part 3 of 3)

Was here for the Ethel Cain show on 9/15/25. Had my worst experience ever at a Toronto venue. I showed up 30 minutes after doors and the line wrapped around the entire venue and reached BMO field. Causing me to completely miss the opener and get in just in time for Ethel’s performance. I know this isn’t completely the venues fault however, when I finally get to the doors I find out there are only 2 metal detectors for over 2000 people. The line was diverged near the end for bag checks and people that lined up after me got in before me. Which was upsetting as I had been waiting for almost an hour. When inside, there were even more lines. There were lines to get drinks, which was slowed down as the bartenders themselves were the ones carding directly at the bar unlike other venues. The line for the bathroom was equally as long and disorganized as outside, as there was only one access point and no line direction. I was in standing GA and the crowd was barely contained in the designated area and started to flow out onto the shared walkway in front the seated balcony. From where I was, the sound and base did not transfer well as this was a heavier concert. There also was no visible fans on the ceiling and as it was an older building, it got quite stuffy and warm for the unseasonably warm weather. Overall this venue is ill equipped for its supposed standing GA capacity. Even though it is safe and follows fire codes, the experience is poor for the cost of the tickets and the struggle with their booking platform.

Bought tickets to see the Violent Femmes (row G). The venue has the feel of a secret club. There is a long walk-up bar tucked away on the right side of the entrance hall and a snack bar window facing the entrance. Both were running full swing. The one confusing part (and the reason for the 4 star rating) was the seating, but there were a number of red-jacketed ushers who can guide you to your seat. Row G means that you're 7 rows from the stage, and the view is glorious! That said, it's such an intimate venue, any seat is bound to be good. The sound setup is in part dependent on the band, and in this case, it was incredibly good. Since this isn't a review on the band, I won't go into it (but they were phenomenal). The other confusing part is finding parking nearby. Here's the secret - go past the venue toward the Dufferin Gates. Just before you hit the curve, there is a parking entrance to a lot just behind the theatre. Paid parking is in effect, $12 for 6pm - 6am and it is enforced (just as the guy beside us who had been ticketed). Pay at the machine with credit card, coin or with the Green P app.

This venue is nothing short of a disaster. Went to a concert last night. The PA sounds terrible, there's no high end & you have to be far left or right to hear anything. If you're in the middle of the GA crowd, vocals are totally incomprehensible. When doors opened into the venue, all ticket holders were able to rush into the GA without even being checked if their ticket was for GA. People who were meant to be in seats were in the standing area, making the place overcrowded. Security was chucking water bottles behind them and their heads were turned 180 degrees from the direction they were throwing the bottles. The crowd then started throwing water bottles for sport, not even to hydrate people, just to be stupid. Myself and many others were injured by people pitching these bottles. Security, despite many of us begging them to stop the madness, laughed at all of this commotion and encouraged this chaos. I don't see the humour in bottles of water narrowly missing stacks of monitors & electrical wiring, nor in being hit in the head by projectiles. I don't blame the fans because they're only acting in accordance with the lousy standard of behaviour being set by the venue. Shame on the people who worked this event. I'd sooner bathe in manure than come back here. Can't stress strongly enough how poorly managed this clown show is. Staff will bellow "no running!". Fans run. Staff scream "no vaping!". Fans vaped. Tickets said have a vaccine passport. They were never checked. It was like Fyre fest. If you have to be here, I recommend bringing a helmet. Nobody here has your safety or comfort in mind. If you like bad sound, meanness, disorganization & calamity, this is the place for you. If you value your sanity & health, avoid at all costs. Worst concert experience I've had in this city by a mile. Beyond unprofessional. They're lucky this didn't veer into...
