Very Disappointed – Not Safe for Vegetarians! I’m writing this review to share a very upsetting experience at The Chopstick House, located at Markham and Sheppard. Today, when we entered the restaurant, I clearly informed the staff that we are strictly vegetarian and that today is Hanuman Jayanti, so it’s especially important that no meat at all is in our food. I requested them to be extra careful while preparing our meal. We ordered the vegetarian noodles and Manchurian, but once again — just like our previous visit — we found chicken pieces in the food! This is completely unacceptable. The manager was very unprofessional and didn’t show any concern or accountability. It’s clear this restaurant doesn’t care about dietary restrictions or religious sentiments. They are misleading people and putting trust at risk. If you check their other reviews, you’ll see I’m not the only one with this type of experience. Please, if you're vegetarian or have any dietary concerns, stay away from The Chopstick House. They are careless, rude, and completely unprofessional.

I was deeply disappointed with my food experience at this restaurant. As a vegetarian and a practicing member of my religion, I strictly avoid consuming meat. During our first visit, I ordered Vegetarian Schezwan Noodles and Manchurian Balls for takeout for my family. However, upon inspecting the food on arrival at home, I was dismayed to find white meat in both dishes. And the taste was not the best, Manchurian balls, very spicy. This discovery was not only a violation of my personal beliefs but also a breach of trust between the restaurant and its customers. The presence of meat in dishes labeled as vegetarian is unacceptable and could potentially harm those with dietary restrictions or allergies. I strongly advise against dining at this establishment until they can ensure that their vegetarian offerings are truly meat-free. It is crucial for restaurants to accurately label their dishes and respect the dietary needs and religious beliefs of their customers.

Nice quiet place, overall first impression was ok untill we sat down. We went for lunch break asked the waitress how long she replied 10-12 min. We waited nearly 25min in total. Food was horrendous. We ordered the Friday lunch special 1 chilli chicken and 1 hot garlic beef, cam with steamed rice and a soup. Was reasonably priced less than $10. But upon opening the food we were extremely disappointed. The garlic beef was a couple slices of beef in a garlic soup. The steamed rice was over cooked more like a pudding possibly yesterday's leftovers. The chilli chicken had the same soup consistency with a hint of spice and 2 pieces of chicken one of which was a piece of cartledge that was unedible. The fried was ok to say the least. As for cleanliness the waitress was wiping tables but the condiments containers have not been cleaned since the grand opening. I will not be back here again. Worst.!!!!!

It was my first visit last night for take out and will be the last. Very disappointed with all aspects of the service. I went in at 8:55 pm and ordered Chow mein fried rice and Chow mein noodles. He told me it will be ready in 5 minutes. As I am sitting there waiting for my food I look at the time here and there..15 minute passes I ask him wheres my food? He tells me one minute I will go check and then disappears only to come out and help someone at the cash who ordered take out by phone. Completely ignoring me. I approach him again after 20 minutes of waiting and he tells me its almost ready...at this point I was about to ask for my money back but I waited..after 30 minutes finally my food is ready..

Got home and my wife opens the food and asks me what I ordered? I told her Chow mein fried rice and Chow mein noodles..she tells me to come and look at the order..they gave me what it looked like Chilli chicken full of white gravy..half container of rice (not even half plate)...on the other hand noodle order was right...

I am pretty sure the lady that came to pick up the take out has one of my order and I have one of her order..if not then something is really wrong with this restaurant..people who chose dine in that came after me were waiting for there food for more than 20 minutes..they were actually still waiting after I left

I was furious and wanted to go back but I decided it was not worth it...they will make me wait another 30 minutes..or even worse..

Its 5 minutes drive from my house...but I will never go back..

Avoid this place...

I recently visited Chostick House near Markham and Sheppard in Toronto. The Halal Chinese restaurant in the area and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience there. It's safe to say that it's the best halal Chinese food available in town.

What sets this restaurant apart from the others is their commitment to providing authentic halal Chinese food, which is quite unique for the area. I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients used in the dishes, and the flavors were outstanding. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations.

In addition to the food, I was also very impressed with the prices and service. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and the portion sizes, making it an excellent value. The service was exceptional as well - the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided great recommendations.

Overall, my experience at this restaurant was fantastic. If you're looking for authentic halal Chinese food, then this is definitely the place to go. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves good food, great service, and reasonable prices.

Unlike many other “halal” Chinese restaurants that serve liquor and not very welcoming when you ask questions related to meat source, chef and other ingredients. Just putting a “halal” is not enough, the restaurant should provide proper evidence...

Title: Disappointing Experience, Poor Quality, and Food Poisoning

If I could I would give it a zero or even minus. I recently ordered from Chopstick House through SkipTheDishes, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The food delivery took over an hour, and when it finally arrived, I immediately noticed that it didn’t look right. I decided to give it a try, and to my horror, the taste confirmed my suspicions - it was stale and had a completely off-putting flavor.

To make matters worse, after consuming the food, I fell severely ill. I experienced fever, nausea, dizziness, and weakness, clearly indicating food poisoning. This incident forced me to leave work early and ruined my day entirely.

I contacted SkipTheDishes customer service, and while they were responsive, their initial offer of a refund for the affected items didn’t address the seriousness of the situation. I expected a more proactive approach and better compensation given the severity of my illness.

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of quality control and concern for customer safety. I urge others to think twice before ordering from Chopstick House through SkipTheDishes, as this experience has left me not only physically unwell but also thoroughly dissatisfied with...
