NEGATIVE STAR. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE. SUPER RUDE SERVICE from waitstaff and AN UNAPOLOGETIC and ARROGANT ATTITUDE BY THE OWNER JIM. Our first time here and were looking forward to it. I am not very knowledgeable about North American Breakfast items. Upon asking politely about one of the menu items second-time to my server (her name is Sara with red hair) because I was unclear whether it has beef or pork since I do not eat both and our server she explained unclearly the first-time, she said "I just told you" which I found to be extremely disrespectful. Food arrived and our never bothered to check up on us for the longest time. I had ordered Pancake that came without the syrup that was mentioned on the menu and the table did not have with syrup bottle on it either. I waited for her and then stood up to flag her so I could request missing item because the food is getting cold and having dry pancakes without the syrup was a bit difficult. But still no sign of our server. Then an asian-lady staff member who came to clear the table right next to ours after the customers at that table had left. I politely asked her if she can get us the syrup for the pancakes. SHE STRAIGHT OUT SAID NO TO US and said your server is coming. i said that I just need the bottle of syrup she had in her hands and nothing else. She looked to be not wanting to help us with such a small request and kept saying that your server is gonna come. I said "Can you not give us the bottle" to which she abruptly said "NO" . I was appalled at the attitude.
Finally, our server Sara came and gave us the bottle and I explicitly told her that I did not appreciate the lack of concern showed by the other staff member, To which Sara started making excuses " I know, she is rude. Oh, her english is not good and that she may not have understood my request, she is only a busser and so on" . I said I dont believe her coz the asian busser lady precisely knew that I was only making a small request to pass the syrup bottle she held.
Upon asking for the manager to our server Sara, first she said there is no manager. I was surprised to know that such a big restaurant is running with a manager on duty, When I confronted her with that statement , she said" he is gone to the bank" . I did not believe her so after 2 minutes I asked another young male-server for the manager and he said he is going to call the manager and the manager is present. Sara lied to me when she said the manager is not around. Finally after a wait of 15/20 minutes coz we were first told that the manager is out and then he is on the phone, the manager (JIM) shows up and he mentions he is the owner and manager and his name is JIM.
Jim’s tone of voice/body language/ attitude suggested that he did not care about my distasteful experience with his staff and he seemed absolutely unapologetic. He kept making excuses like our server that “she is the bus-girl/her english is not good and blab blah” without taking any accountability for his staff’s demeanour. I mentioned to Jim that it was our first time at his restaurant and he seemed unbothered, no appreciation for our time and effort to come to his restaurant which one would expect from an owner. No wonder if the owner JIM had this lousy attitude towards the customers then his staff’s approach to making customers feel offended is not surprising. There was no apologies by the owner JIM and he came across arrogant in his way of talking to us. I paid the entire bill and left, again not an iota of concern for a dissatisfied customer.
It seemed to me that they discriminate customers based on their wardrobe or staff’s expectation of the tips etc. EXTREMELY RUDE AND ARROGANT PLACE. NOT SURE HOW THEY ABLE TO SURVIVE WITH THAT ATTITUDE! STAY AWAY AND NEVER AGAIN...

I was told by another staff that the server’s name was Roselyn and she had a nasty attitude from the time my partner and I sat down. She is an older white lady with box braids. As I was ordering she was giving me attitude looking at me in a disturbing manner, and making me feel very uncomfortable. It seemed like she had a horrible day and was taking her frustration out on my partner and I. We were very polite, we consistently thanked her for her service, and she provided no response. She never once said you’re welcome, or executed any kind gestures as a server would. While we were eating she kept pressuring us to get our bills. We were trying to eat and enjoy our time but she consistently kept asking if we wanted our bill. Typically waitresses wait until you are finished eating and then ask if we wanted our bill. I also ordered an alcoholic beverage and in a disturbing rude manner she said “oh you need to finish that by a certain time”. She provided no further explanation, but rather pure attitude. We received our bill, I did not tip because the service was terrible. She proceeded to approach our table and say was there anything wrong with the service? Then as she was standing in front of another table said oh you guys didn’t tip, no gratuity was offered. I was appalled. I have never experienced such an occurrence in my whole life. As a waitress you never address a customer in regard to gratuity or tipping. A tip is earned for excellent customer service, not just given because an individual works at a particular place. No waitress should ever address a customer in such a manner and in that particular context. I have been to Markham station numerous times and the service has always been immaculate but after Roselyn’s service, I don’t know if I want to go back there. Something needs to be done about her attitude and poor customer service immediately!!! I think you should take that time to inform all your waitresses that tips are earned not just received automatically. A tip is not guaranteed.
