Beautiful statue even though the water fountain was closed. It located near the Garden of the Greek Gods which is a small garden with sculptures of various Greek gods. It was interesting to learn about the various gods in Greek mythology as every sculpture has a brief description. The rose 🌹 garden is also in the same area. The flowers would be beautiful in the summer but since it’s November, there were very few roses blooming but I managed to see a few. There is also FORT ROUILLÉ, Scadding Cabin and the first wind turbine in North America in the same vicinity as the Greek gods garden. It’s also right by the lake so it’s a nice way to spend a few hours learning some history about the area and exploring the gardens.

95 years ago, this monument was inaugurated to represent peace. The peace it celebrates is the one between Canada and the United States. Today, this beautiful statue, surrounded by a large circular fountain, stands in a stunning park from which you can see Lake Ontario, which separates Canada from the United States. In the summer, the well-maintained garden fills with flowers. Two smaller fountains are also part of the garden. A little further away, still within the park, stands the oldest house in the city.

Nice space on the grounds of the CNE. On June 12, 1930, the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (Shriners) dedicated this bronze monument, the “Peace Memorial,” to commemorate over 100 years of peaceful relations between Canada and the United States. In 1958, the fountain and gardens were added and the statue rededicated to the cause of peace. The statue faces the Niagara River, which forms part of the Canada-United States border.
