Sayal Electronics — Attraction in Toronto

Mar 2025: Sayal had traditionally been a reseller of surplus electronics and electrical supplies. More recently there has been an increase in the number of new items. There has been increase in summer of the cheap Chinese trinkets and trash (low cost items that might or might not work as desired). Definitely getting back to original stock levels.

This location has all sorts of electronics and electrical supplies.

They also have hobby material and teaching toys for young children.

There are quite a lot of mainstream electronics available on the floor displays but there is an extensive backroom inventory that be electronically searched. Beware, there is a minimum order charge for bringing items from the back area. Still a good place to get electronics. Victoria park ave store is being renovated.. Watch...

Markham store -- looking for a specific capacitor (as per sample I showed them), I was told that I could try one that wasn't an exact fit in both size and voltage/match -- upon asking how it would affect my board, was told glibly "Oh, it could burn it out. Just bring it to somebody to get it fixed" -- can't help to wonder if this comment was utter belligerence towards any electronics knowledge (so why are they working in a specialty shop?), or if it was based on the fact that I'm a middle aged woman. A polite -- sorry, we don't have this one, you can get it from X - would have been all that is needed. But they claimed absolute ignorance when I asked where else I might try to get one. Left that store shaking my head....

A place with a very large selections of all things electronic, from switches to buttons to tools to project boards. Just about anything you would want or need as an electronic hobbyist can be found here.

Their selection is of pretty good quality, nothing that's super cheap that'll break on you before your first use.

Although the store itself is excellent, the staff are somewhat autonomous and seem to be forced to stand around all day, though don't be afraid to ask them for help. Perhaps the day I visited was a slow day and the staff were bored but that's the only factor stopping me from giving this place 5 stars.

Otherwise, it's an absolutely excellent place to drop by even...
