Named after Etobicoke's first Parks Commissioner. The former Central Park remains a this unassuming strip straddling the east side of Islington from Dundas West where the Mimico Creek continues via its momentary obscured flow when it passes under Dundas. Tom Riley Park has the Etobicoke Lawn Bowling Club at its north east edge, a set of tennis courts and just on its edge the expansive Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, home of the Rams and many achieving students and graduates including the venerable though late, Harold Shipp. A baseball diamond as served witness to many hopeful leaguers that commuters can observe from the west as they pass by on Islington or the intersecting Cordova Ave. Continuing along the path on the east and just outside the ball grounds outfield you pass under the rail road overpass and find the green space widens where park benches and sitting areas and a soccer field give locals of all ages a urban park retreat. Playgrounds for kids, public tennis courts (and yes their lit at night if necessary), a baseball diamond (off of Islington - lots of parking) and seating to watch the game(s). Mimico Creek runs right through the park where you can watch ducks and feed them (by the way bread is not good for ducks, try oats, grains ... do your research please). Lots of benches to watch the foliage throughout the changing seasons and also to people watch. There’s coffee shops nearby or grab a lunch and go sit in the park. I like to see what is growing in the communal garden close to Bloor ... but don’t touch. You’ll find Montgomery’s Inn near the northern end of the park where you can also park and stroll...
