They are part of asianlicious carnival which started sept 10 runs until sept 25. A bit of a break on prices for some maki rolls. Menus are listed on asianliscious website NOT theirs! So I decided on 2 large 8 pieces rolls $20 and 2 smaller maki (6 piece) rolls. $10 So I can’t say what the quality of the fish is as it is disguised in the rolls very well. I can say that it was tasty (sauces on them) and that the rolls are tad large (I think generous with the rice) Overall a good deal. Now the menu on their website is different and many of their rolls are not included in the 2 for $20 I got the bulgogi beef roll (geeze Korean you think? 👍🏻 Tasty and spicy golden -(fried yam )with salmon also very tasty. Salmon skin roll. Now this has disappointed me for years now. I used to love crispy salmon skin but who makes this anymore? It tasted fine but not crispy 😔 California roll. - fine BONUS: she gave me 2 miso soups on the house 👍🏻😀 very generous of her. Since when do we tip on take out when you pick up though? She wanted that. 😳 Anyways if you like rolls, may be worth it for you. Though any real decent rolls, you’ll just have to pay cause it’s not part of the special. Will I go back? Hard to say, it’s not that close to me. But it was worth a try!

Located near Islington Station, Sushi Run has been consistent on quality and service since the day we've discovered them in our neighbourhood (since 2017). Staff treats everyone like family and friends, extremely hospitable and friendly. Service has been consistent and food delicious as usual. They do a great job at packing their items for take out and the attention to detail is on-point. Can't wait to go back again! Our reliable choices are the Torched Jalapeno Salmon Sushi (Aburi Sushi), Chirashi and the Vegetarian Bento Box (with Vegetable Tempura). We've ordered Bento boxes, special rolls, maki sets, and tempura as well. Food is consistently good and the Green Veggie Dragon Roll blew us away! Their tempura is hot when it comes to your table. The portion sizes are pretty good and presented well. They give you a mini-appetizer (usually Japchae) when you order your food as well! Prices are consistent compared to other Japanese restaurants in Toronto. For a small restaurant, we love that they offer individual rooms that easily fit 4 people and can fit groups in the middle open area. Also, they're available on UberEats for delivery, or pick-up via Ritual app as well!

Invited by a friend for an evening of neighborhood sushi. The place is small, with a few semi-private rooms and some dining tables. We ordered the sushi nigiri and maki platter for 4 people, as both of us were hungry. The nigiri were generous with the fish slices, with just enough rice to make it worthwhile. I found the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls to be too mild for my taste, but the rolls came with tempura bits that make great contrasting texture with the rolls. The red snapper and salmon slices weren't the freshest I've had, but it's a challenge to find fresh sashimi fish in Toronto, so that's understandable. I want to give special mention for the service in the restaurant. Normally it is difficult to get server's attention when seated in a private room, which is often equipped with a button to call for service. But our server proactively checked on us and made sure our water was constantly filled. When I visit my friend and find myself in the area, this is a good contender for a nice dinner.

The ratings of Sushi Run are very high and I can understand why. The family that runs Sushi Run is adorably wonderful. When we arrived, the owner and her family was there doing everything... all with a beaming smile. I wouldn't think a normal person would have that type of infectious smile but here she was, at work and greeting everyone the same way.

This place is best described as your neighbourhood spot. Sushi Run is a petite place that is more homey than your normal spot. It has 2 cute little wooden rooms to one side of the narrow space but there are more than enough tables for at least 30 people. I will say they do a crazy amount of take out... I think when we walked in, there was 4 platters and 2 bags ready to be picked up and this continued throughout the time we were there.

Service is the best part of this place... just infectiously happy and sincere in every way possible. Not only did they greet us happily the moment we stepped into the place but also they checked in multiple times to make sure we have everything we needed and helped clear the plates. One cute thing was that the owner create these tiny little extra gifts for every table... a sauce container filled with chocolate eggs for Easter. Completely unnecessary but adorably thoughtful. Small things do make a difference.

As for the menu, it's quite large with a number of special rolls. My suggestion is to grab a platter if you can... it's not only a large variety, it's a good value. For 5 people, the large maki, sushi, and sashimi platter with 3 appetizers was more than enough food. We barely finished. I do appreciate the thoughtful amuse bouche of chilled sweet potato noodles in a sesame soya sauce.

Beef Gyoza - This was a yelp check in gift. I would say these are run of the mill beef gyoza. Fried a bit but could have been a bit more as it wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it. The sauce helped to kick up the flavour. 3.5/5

Agedashi Tofu - Large pieces of silken tofu but the coating wasn't as crispy as I've had at other places. 3.5/5

Spicy Sushi Pizza - This was good. Super crispy base topped with chopped spicy salmon, avocado, and tobiko. It was served super fresh just out of the fryer. You have creamy, crunchy, spicy, and salty... all in a delicious bite. Definitely a winner for apps. 4/5

Sushi, Sashimi, and Maki roll platter - Large variety and nothing seemed skimped on. All of the sashimi and sushi pieces were cut in a good size. Maki rolls all done nicely, clean smooth rolls with lots of filling, and nice flavours. Spicy mayo just makes everything great lol. I didnt find they used too much rice as filler so this was good too. 4/5

Another nice last thoughtful touch was that they gave the birthday girl a HUGE helping of 2 large ice cream scoops to help celebrate her day. She loved it. Again... small gestures can make a big difference. She loves Japanese food now.

You can't help but love the place because of the people here. Genuine happy service like this is not common. When it's coupled with good food and very reasonable prices, it's a no brainer when you're deciding a local neighbourhood...

This is an updated review. I decided to give this place another go after 3 years. Came back during covid, and decided to find in. Service, as previously mentioned was great, the girls are very good. The food was very tasty, and a lot better to my first experience. They also added a few different items on the menu, that I have not seen anywhere else and it's very different. Tried the sushi burger and it was filling. Presentation is always perfect. My previous statement on sushi fillers doesn't really count anymore. Will return.

I have been to many sushi places and am at the point I know exactly what I like and don't like, or most importantly what to expect from a good place. The service was good, the girls are adorable and smiley, the presentation of the food is great, BUT.. I can tell when a place is being cheap. If I go out for sushi I expect to be eating mostly SUSHI. The rolls we got : volcano (whick I was really disappointed about), Tataki and the spicy golden tuna were just filled with sushi bits and for the most part filled with tempura and vegetables. The sushi burrito I got was large, and very tasty but then again I could not see the salmon! There was hardly anything. This is totally unacceptable guys. I hope you read this review..Because you know what? It was priced at the exact same prices of any other place, for so much less fish..If anything really. Too expensive..70$ for rice and vegetables served with a smile. No I'm sorry....
