During my recent visit to Grandstand Casino, I encountered multiple issues that significantly detracted from my overall experience. The behavior of some employees raised concerns, and the enforcement of certain policies seemed unreasonable.
Staff Conduct: The professionalism and attitude of the casino staff were disappointing. An incident involving a dealer at the poker table was particularly troubling. Despite attempting a friendly greeting and inquiry about his name, which was obscured by his name tag being worn backwards, I was met with silence and eventually a rude response. This lack of basic courtesy and respect is unacceptable in a customer service environment.
Bar Service: The experience at the poker room bar was equally frustrating. A policy limiting drinks to one per person led to an unnecessary confrontation when my friend was denied service for attempting to order a beer for both of us. The bartender’s reaction to a simple comment about the policy was disproportionate, escalating to the point where management had to intervene. While the issue was eventually resolved, the initial refusal to serve and the subsequent treatment we received was unwarranted.
Poker Room Policy: The casino’s policy regarding the poker room waitlist is another point of contention. The inability to call ahead and place one’s name on the waitlist, combined with an incident where the waitlist was inexplicably frozen, suggests a lack of consideration for guests’ time and convenience. This policy appears to encourage guests to spend money on other games while waiting, which feels manipulative.
Conclusion: My experience at Grandstand Casino was marred by encounters with staff members who displayed a lack of respect and professionalism, as well as policies that seemed more designed to inconvenience guests than enhance their experience. While the casino may offer a variety of gaming options, the negative interactions with certain employees and questionable enforcement of policies significantly impacted my enjoyment. Potential visitors should be aware of these issues and consider them when planning...
Read moreAt the Woodbine Centre theatre on October 18, 2024 for the Udit Narayan concert. Ushers were great. Seats labelling were poor. Someone spilled water on the floor. Puddle had a radius of about 12 inches with a height of half an inch. Found a staff member and advised of this issue before the show started. I was directed to the bathroom where I can obtain paper towel to clean it myself. Followed up with an usher. He went and found a cleaning staff who was shown the puddle. We were a party of seven who paid $700 for our seats. The seats were not comfortable. The puddle was still there when we left two hours later. Concert was fantastic. Venue was not worth it. Totally disrespectful to ask a paying patron of a premium ticket to clean. This theatre will not benefit from my future...
