This library is brilliant! They have so much going on, and are super progressive in finding the ways of the future for libraries in this community. I loved the selection of kids books, the puppets (including some beautiful First Nations design ones), a puppet theatre, toys for kids of all ages, fantastic displays of fiction and non-fiction topics of interest, very much linked with community priorities and inclusive values. Attached is a photo of the Rainbow books collection, which was awesome to see-- especially in Trail! They also have a puzzle exchange, lots of programs for kids, and a budding video game library. Just what we need. Given that I have a personal interest in technology education for kids, I was impressed that they chose keyboards for the kids' computers that used colours to differentiate the keyboard zones. Very helpful for learning to type! Ryan, the librarian was very helpful to us and everyone who came in when we were there, directing people to books and programs/services of interest, or anything they needed to find. Ryan eas enthusiastic, friendly, and had an excellent knowledge of local history to share. I learned a lot. There's a gift shop and a superb self-guided local history museum linked to the library that are super engaging and fascinating to visit as well. I highly recommend them. They do a great job of vividly portraying different facets of the history in the area. Judging by the progressiveness of the library staff, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the important but less dominant cultural threads begin to weave their way into the museum, too, even more than we are already seeing. Thank you, Trail Library, for ensuring the breadth of this community feels supported, connected, and SEEN 🄰 It is a joy to witness. PS Included some photos of the washroom amenities, which were excellent. I would love to know the purpose of the bell on the door.

Awesome! I visited the new library and museum and was thrilled with what they have done. The museum is really cool and the displays are interesting and informative! The library is full of books, they have hand puppets a few computers and a whole kids section where you can do some coloring and get some reading done. They always have different programs going on in the building just check online to see what they are providing. You can also get Trail smoke eaters merchandise, jerseys-...
