Double Happiness Restaurant — Restaurant in Trail

We have been ordering take out from here for about 8 months. Food is delicious! However, the past couple times the orders have been taking an unreasonable amount of time (over an hour) considering I call in right when they open. Tonight was the worst. I called in 7 minutes after the phone line opened. After waiting for an hour and 25 minutes, I called in to check in on my order. I was told they were extremely busy.....and they hadn't started my order yet but would try to go as fast as they could. I found this unbelievable because I called in so very early. The lady apologized and said they had orders that had to be ready at a specific time. Huh? So if I don't say a specific time I may have to wait 2 hours for a couple of personal combos?!?!?! When I placed my order I was not asked if I required my food ready for a certain time. If I had been given that option, I would have requested it within 30 minutes. I am dumfounded that my food was likely going to take over 2 HOURS. Bad business and poor management. At this point, I cancelled our order because waiting any longer, and for an unknown amount of time, seemed really ridiculous. I feel like we could have waited well over 2 hours. I've never waited this amount of time for take out nor for dining. Can't say we are going to order from here again. Unfortunately. Very disappointed.

Update: Called Canton. Ordered 4 main dishes. Was told order would be ready in 25 minutes. Double Happiness - UNREASONABLE. Canton - REASONABLE. Get it together...

A very positive experience for a delivery order! This is some of the best Canadian-Chinese food I have had recently, if ever. And maybe the final frontier for inexpensive food in Trail. Our order of vietnamese spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, ginger beef + steamed rice was only $54, delivered! The ginger beef was crispy and sweet without having that glossy, corn starchy sauce that is undesirable and in some Chinese food ginger beef. It was somehow light, with fresh ginger and peppers throughout. The food arrived to the door within 35 min of ordering over the phone. This business also has a clear website which is easy to decide on your order....

Just Picked up.... and it is the best👍👍👍 I've had yet from Double Happiness amazing flavours the ginger beef is incredible loved every bite of it OMG it was so good!!! kudos to the cook's best food ever!!!...
