New Brighton Park is a hidden gem in East Vancouver, offering stunning waterfront views that make it a fantastic spot for nature lovers. The scenery is breathtaking, with the Burrard Inlet framed by the North Shore Mountains and the iconic Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. Watching freighters glide by against this backdrop feels serene and almost magical, perfect for a peaceful picnic or a relaxing stroll. The park’s grassy fields, sandy beach, and off-leash dog area add to its charm, making it family-friendly and versatile. The playgrounds are great for kids, and the heated outdoor pool is a summer highlight, though the industrial surroundings slightly detract from its appeal compared to places like Stanley Park. However, parking is a real challenge, especially during peak times. The lots on Wall Street and New Brighton Road fill up quickly, and street parking is limited. I’ve circled around multiple times, and it’s frustrating when you just want to enjoy the park. Some visitors even risk parking in unauthorized spots, which can lead to towing. Despite this, the park’s beauty and amenities make it worth the hassle. Arrive early to snag a spot, and you’ll be rewarded with a...

I Love this park for all its attributes! But - I had never used the picnic tables. Today my partner and I sat at a picnic table that was just the filthiest, stickiest, grossest table I have ever seen in a park. We tried other tables, equally bad. Their website says there is a caretaker there for the restrooms, the garbage bins are always tidy, the park is clean. PLease! Someone take some non-toxic cleaning solution and wire brush off those picnic tables or someone is going to get sick. Maybe notices to warn people to use plastic tablecloths? I notice people often leave their empty propane tanks too, are there signs to tell people to take them out? As said, Love this park - normally clean, tidy, lovely place to visit. ! P.S. Check with Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park how they keep all their picnic tables so clean with many people using...

Love New Brighton Park! Nice views, walking paths and beaches although swimming in the ocean is highly not recommended. Too close to factories and riptides are dangerous. There is an outdoor pool open in the summer. It is currently being redeveloped. It is a great place to bring your dog, they have just built an enclosed off leash area. However many people illegally let their dogs roam free all over outside of the off leash areas, disregarding Vancouver leash law in public areas. Use caution if you are walking a dog who doesn't get along with other dogs, and always be aware of aggressive dogs not on leashes. If dog owners would be more responsible here, it would be a really great...

Our team’s September BBQ was a delightful experience, set against the backdrop of a serene pool with just the right amount of quiet. The expansive, well-maintained grassy area provided the perfect space for a friendly game of badminton, while a fenced-in section allowed dogs and other pets to play safely. The park itself was a hidden gem, offering clean grounds, ample shade from mature trees, and an atmosphere of calm far from the city’s bustle. Though a bit off the beaten path, the location felt like a fresh discovery. With a spacious parking lot and even a passing train for little ones who might be enthralled, it was the ideal setting for a relaxing day outdoors.
