Formal Complaint Regarding Seating Issues at Jhené Aiko Concert on August 14

Dear Security/management,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the handling of seating arrangements during the Jhené Aiko concert I attended on Wednesday, August 14.

Upon arrival, the security personnel were initially accommodating and assisted me to the front line, as I am wheelchair-bound and had purchased wheelchair-accessible seating. While the initial arrangement was satisfactory, issues arose once the concert began.

Despite having paid for wheelchair-accessible seating, individuals without proper tickets for this section continually encroached upon my designated space. They remained in the area during the performance of the four opening acts, dancing and bumping into my wheelchair. My attempts to resolve the situation by requesting assistance from security were met with only temporary relief. Each time the fans were removed, new individuals entered the area, and their presence continued to disrupt my experience.

When I raised the issue again, the security staff responded dismissively, stating that they had already asked the individuals to leave.

Despite escalating my complaint to a manager, the situation was not fully resolved, and persisted until the latter part of the show.

This experience significantly detracted from my enjoyment of the event. I suggest implementing a more robust barrier system to prevent unauthorized access to designated areas for individuals with disabilities, as I have observed more effective measures at other venues such as the MTS Center.

Thank you for your attention to...

the worst concert venue in Van. super unorganized and disrespectful of peoples time and money. staff could not answer their own questions just about seating and which line to go in. The sabrina event is planned MONTHS in advance and her VIP packages are made clear to what experience you’re gonna get and that failed because of unorganized efforts. Also letting in GA holders and seated people is ridiculous since you have people running and fighting to get to their GA seat because it’s first come first served! and there was no separate line or entrance for GA/floor people. We pay hundreds of dollars to attend and the PNE sends out emails trying to seem organized but in reality it’s not and they have no compassion. This obviously does not describe everyone there and I appreciate the good efforts but over all the venue itself is bad. Rogers Arena and even UBC Arena is a great example of organization and nice staff who actually care about people. I’m sorry to all the kids as well who were being told false info and I even saw one group almost leave the whole line because a worker told them too when they actually were in the right line. The workers seemed surprised when everyone was running in but I wonder why? At a huge venue like rogers arena you don’t even have that so it’s not the peoples problem and all the people attending the concert were being relatively respectful and just...

Security is overzealous with rules, seemingly discriminatory practices against Indigenous people. You can't bring any bag larger than 8.5x11 inches. Tote Bags are not allowed to be brought in, they make you check the bag for $10 (only accepts cards) . There's zero signage telling you these "rules". Apparently it's in an email when you buy tickets but if a friend bought the tickets you're S.O.L.

The irony is thick because I was attending a rock concert & tote bags are synonymous with band merch. So they will allow Bands to sell you Tote bags but not actually allowed inside?

Whoever they hire as security clearly base their judgements on the colour of the person's skin. I counted many tote bags inside the venue on non-brown people. Honestly they seem to hire the cheapest workers, everyone is either a temporary foreign worker, underage or a cop wannabe.

Pacific Coliseum & management are rule and money hungry. Also very high security, the venue is crawling with VPD and security guards. The whole event was a waste of time, money & energy.

Definitely don't go here for a positive concert experience. If you want oversized sodas, $10 beer or stale pretzels they will gladly sell it to you.

Shame on Timbre concerts for partnering with...

On the 18th July, we had the incredible opportunity to attend a music concert by the legendary Oscar winner A.R. Rahman at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, BC—and what an unforgettable experience it was! The venue itself is massive and impressively well maintained. From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth—from entry to seating. The stage setup, acoustics, and lighting created the perfect atmosphere for a world-class performance. A.R. Rahman and his team delivered a soul-stirring show, and the venue rose to the occasion beautifully. One minor drawback was the spacing between the rows—legroom could definitely be improved for added comfort. However, that was easily overshadowed by how well everything else was laid out. The canteen facilities were top-notch, with a wide range of food and beverage options and friendly, efficient service even with the large crowd. The toilets were clean, well stocked, and easily accessible—something you don’t always see at large concert venues. All in all, the Pacific Coliseum proved to be an excellent host for such a grand event. Looking forward to more magical nights at this iconic venue!
