I was looking for an indoor playground that could accommodate a large number of children without charging me “extra” for each kid above 10 or 20. This place offered that for a reasonable rate since they include a cake, pizza, juice boxes and plates for private parties. That said, we found extra items definitely needed to be brought in, particularly extra drinks, napkins, snacks, etc. I’d also never go with their “coffee and tea package” again - it’s much better value to bring in one of the big boxes from Tim’s.
The Good: they can accommodate large numbers, the cake was actually quite good and looked really cool, the woman in charge of the party was efficient and cleaned around us quickly, the playground was lots of fun for kids (we had 5-9 year olds and they all had a blast) and our party of 35 kids fit nicely. It’s also really nice not to be in charge of all of the clean up, or to have to organize party games and entertainment.
The Not-So-Good: (1) We have been coming here since this playground opened, and it’s starting to show age and wear, especially in the dirty floor tiles (2) The private party package comes with 40 slices of pizza, but it’s frozen pizza and the slices were TINY (luckily our time slot was for just after lunch so the kids weren’t too hungry) (3) There is not enough time to set up your party, or to usher your guests out gracefully - this part was actually really stressful. We waited outside until “our” time to set up, but the people after us didn’t wait and the store employee didn’t ask them to give us our space. If they could figure out a way to add even 15 extra minutes between each party, it would help a lot (4) The woman running the parties really is rude and a bit unreasonable. She shouted at some of our guests, made a big deal about unimportant things (like guests who forgot socks, even though we kept telling her to just give them a pair of the socks they sell and charge us for them), kept trying to pack up my belongings for me at least 20 mins before the party was over, tried to get me to make the guests leave early, etc. The clock running 20 mins ahead of time is truly bizarre. In sympathy to her, it is a loud, chaotic job, and they seem to have lots of front door requirements (ensure socks on guests, get parents to sign a waiver, answer questions, etc). Her English also isn’t very good. Maybe they should consider having a second person there on Saturdays - one to just monitor/control the front gate, and the other to do the other cleaning/organizing work in back.
Overall, I’m satisfied with the value for my money, mainly because my kids had so much fun. I would recommend them with some warnings: show up with a sense of humour about the cranky lady in charge, bring good coffee, and be prepared to be raced in and out of the door. If you can get on board with that, the kids will have fun, the food will be good, and you can just go home at the end with no need to clean up...
Read moreI had my both my kids birthday party here. I found the structure to be good. It was simple but very high and all the kids at the party had a great time. They ranged from 1-11. I was afraid the older kids wouldn't have fun. But they had an amazing time.
The party package includes pizza and I assumed it was pizza pizza that was going to be served but it was frozen pizza. I was a bit disappointed with that. I was able to bring outside food which was great.
The party room was in the back and only the older adults hanged out there. The place was opened to the public so there were tons of kids there which was great. There was a family that was not part of my party that came and ate the sandwiches and pizza. They also went to the other party room and took their cake. That took me by surprise but not the venues fault.
The older women running this place is a rude. My husband asked her for a couple stuff and she was pure rude to him. There was a private party after us and she was rude kicking out my guests. Very forceful. Telling them they need to get out now!
When paying the older women was annoyed at me that the machine was taking to long to process. Again not my fault but I think she was stressing out bc the other party host arrived and she was trying to accommodate them. Which isn't great customer service.
The gentleman Adrian was great to deal with. I wish he was transparent with the pizza. He ordered the cake for the party and it was amazing. I really didnt set up anything. Everything was done for me when I got there. Which I love! Tables with table cloth - drinks on the table with plates. I mean I brought extra food put it on the table. Brought loot bags put it on the table. It was amazing. I had time before my guests arrive to hang out. I wasn't stressing out like I would have at other venues.
I did bring extra cutlery/plates napkins /juice /water bc it was only enough for the kids in the package.
Their coffee was very disappointing- don't order it
Overall happy with the venue. The older women needs to be kinder or maybe not involved with the host...
Read moreI recently went to Hop Hop Jump, and I have never experienced such horrible customer service. I went with my 10 month daughter, and told the woman behind the counter that I had one child and I would need a pair of socks. She charged me $12.38. I didn't think anything of it until I went to leave, and I was looking at the board and realized that the fee for a 1 one year old was $7.80 (taxes in). I brought it to her attention, and showed her my receipt and asked for a refund for the difference. She gave me $4.00 in change. As I was getting my daughter dressed to leave, she comes over to me and tells me that there is tax on the socks, even though its not indicated anywhere on the board. I tell her that, and she says we are in Canada, there is tax on everything, so the $1.00 socks then jumped to $1.38... I told her that the tax in Ontario is NOT 38% and it's 13%, so it should be $1.13, plus the $7.80. She was incredibly rude, and when I took her calculator to show her that the refunded amount should be $3.45, and I offered to return a dollar and we could separate the exact change, she rolled her eyes at me and dismissed me.
I will never go back to this place, if a business owner is going to make a customer feel...
